WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
In all of the time that I have spent in sharing the Gospel of Christ I have never seen a time more filled with violence, and factions between all groups of people than I do today, and it seems like those who are supposed to be the one watching out for us are the very ones that are creating the factions and the hate.
It looks like the age old divide and conquer routine is still a basic tool of the enemy. That is a main reason that I am not a fan of religion because it has been used to create more violence and hatred than anything we as men have ever created. Yes I did say that men are the ones who have created religion. In John 16:2,3 Jesus tells us that there will be some who commit atrocities and murder in the name of God. There will be a time when who ever kills you will think that he is doing a good thing in the service of God. Jesus informs us that these are not true believers because they have neither known Jesus or the Father. 1 John 3:15 Jesus also tells us that if someone puts a knife in our back in the name of Christianity there is something very wrong.
My point here is that if we as humans can see this then how much more can God see this...and He will deal with it on judgment day. We live in a time where the gloves are starting to come between good and evil. The evil and the hate of this world can easily be seen now, and that should make our choice even easier to make. It is difficult at first to stand up and look evil in the eye; and then deny it power within our lives, but when we begin to do that we will find how much stronger we are than we may have ever realized we are.
I believe one of the reasons we have not seen the power of God at work through many of us is that we have never called on that power to operate through us. That truth simply has to change before we can ever see evil flee from us. The fact remains is that we cannot be the ones in control of God...He must be the one who is in control of us. We already know how badly the world is getting with regard to persecution of those who claim Jesus as Savior, but what we don't understand is that it is just the beginning of some very bad things that are scheduled to happen in this world. I am not going to be someone who tells you that things will be alright and that we who are in Christ will not have any worries because unless Christ comes very soon we may have plenty of problems in this country. My concern is that we get and that we remain as close to God as we possibly can during this time. We may well have only those who are in Christ with us to rely upon, and so we had better make sure that in our associations with others we can count on them in Christ as well. The next series of wars that we may face is in finding out who among us really do love and serve God; and who among us actually love and serve self first...May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
