THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF VIEWS
There are all kinds of views about what the book of Revelation tells us about the end of time...in fact some people say that Jesus was talking about events that have already happened , but which happened within a generation of when He spoke.
If that were true it all would have already happened, and Christ would have already returned...we know that has not yet taken place. Jesus was trying to tell all of us that these signs would all appear before He returns, and we should watch for them and above all be ready when He does come. There are so many people who want to know and who are drawn by anyone saying that they know this or that about Christ coming. There is only one problem...no one knows, and no one will know according to Jesus..
One of the things we need to do as followers of Christ is to be obedient to what He tells us about the end times. If we are going to read His words to us and then make up our own way of obeying Him then we are not obedient to Him at all; but rather to our own will. It seems like we have a very hard time following the very teachings we say that we believe in. Doesn't it make sense that if we do not follow Christ's teachings...we really don't believe in them. If Christ looks it that behavior why should He believe what we say? It is a classic relationship problem, and the importance of our relationship to Christ is obvious.
In Matthew 24:36-51 Christ talks about those who remain and are watchful for His return. What He said was that things will happen just as it did in the days of Noah where people will be going through the normal motions of life right up until the very moment Christ returns. We will know nothing about the occurrence until the moment it happens.
Jesus said " If the owner of the house had known that a thief would break in to his house at a particular time he would have been waiting for him" but that will not be the case. The people who will be waiting for Christ;s return will be ready when ever He comes. While there are all kinds of views on this subject there still is only one kind of obedience to God's word. I myself have been giving you all kinds of warnings about the end times, and the need to be ready for the return of Christ...I can only pray that you are listening and preparing. My heart grows more and more convinced every day that we will soon be with Christ, and that this world is getting ready to go into a very deep tribulation. Keep me in prayer as we continue to work on this study in the book of Revelations...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
