WHAT DREAMS MAY COME
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
All of us have different callings in our Christian lives...it is funny to me that we think that we all have to do the same exact job. It seems like people run over one another to preach the word of God or to be seen doing good works yet there are Christians jobs that are even more important than that which are left by the way side.
In our hearts we all know about the need to live out the Christian life in a way that allows the Holy Spirit to be seen through us and to draw people unto God, but few people it seems are really taking the opportunity to concentrate on living out that life. That is probably because it does not come with accolades or public exposure most of the time. It is however one of the most important and powerful jobs in Christ. In fact it is a job more valuable in Christ than anything I can think of. The power of the Holy Spirit can not be activated in someone who is not personally seeking God with everything they have in this life. It is that personal response to our need for God's control and authority in us that prompts God's Spirit to begin a change within us that can be both seen and felt by all of the world around us.
We some how have gotten the idea that it is what we do that matters in our faith, but that is simply not true; it is what we allow God to do through us that matters, and for that to happen we cannot be in control of our lives. It is a rater bitter pill to swallow to think that God does not need us. We are self promoting, self advancing, self evaluating, self judging control freaks about life most of the time, but in order for God to do what He needs to through us He is the one that needs to have the control in our lives. What amazes me is the hardship we have in giving things to God. We have such a hard time in making ourselves available as tools to be used instead of trying to be workmen who build with our own mind and hearts.
God has already mapped out what He knows is a perfect plan for where He wants for us to be, and He will lead us there...we just need to quite fighting with Him for control over every little part of the process in getting us to where He wants us to be. Our job {as I have said a million times before} is to be clean and ready for use when God decides to pick us up for a job. When God is finally in charge we may never know what dreams may come our way that we have wanted in life. God is a worker of miracles in the lives of the most ordinary of us as people. Let God work through you today...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
