UNITY/ GROWING UP IN CHRIST
Greetings in Jesus:
The one basic thing that unifies the Christian faith is love and growth of that love through works and service through God's Spirit to others. It would seem that loving others is just too "GOODY TWO SHOES" for this world who preaches the concept of self and control over all they see around them.
The main difference in the Christian faith is that it simply allows us to grow into a light of truth that sets us eventually free from hate , denial, and the basic corruption we see from what this world is offering us. In Christ we are offered the chance to have the kind of unity that promotes peace among men without the violence and hate which on the outside all other religions promote as a core of their faith until that faith is challenged. As believers we should be as one unit within Christ Ephesians 4:11-16 gives us a great example of that unity in that we are to become one in body; or the fellowship of believers, which is the church; one in Spirit, which is the Holy Spirit of God. We are to be one in the hope which is the glorious hope of the future that Jesus has promised us; one in Christ to whom we should all belong. This is our singular commitment that Christ should govern everything we say and do...He is actually our life and our motivation. Our baptism is a sign of that commitment to Christ as a death burial and resurrection into that church, but in all things it becomes our Heaven Father who keeps us from harm and Spiritual death for all eternity who keeps us together and becomes the focal point of our very lives here on earth.
We have all been taught through scripture that we have all had a former way of living that was in this world. It was a time when we all have walked in the darkness that this same sin filled place has brainwashed us with. The difference is that for those who have allowed the light of truth into their mind and heart they have a chance to put on a new life that will change their destiny forever more. In Ephesians 4:22-24 Paul again speaks of this former and new way of living as a beginning part of transformation from someone who has at one time been fooled by this world and the teaching of men into a new creature that allows all who will accept Jesus as the Lord of their lives to find a peace and love that passes all understanding. It is not a new list of rules and regulations as some would have us believe, but it becomes a freedom from slavery in a huge way. We cannot experience the things that Christ gives us until we are willing to allow Him to be a part of our lives. If you are looking or if you know someone who is looking for that peace then take some of the ideas I will be sharing with you this week with you as to speak to them or pray for them. There are many who are afraid today to take a stand for Christ out of fear for their lives, but in doing so they need to know they have accepted the mercy and grace of God through Christ as life eternal. They can claim everything they have ever thought or imagined as only a part of the blessing they have in store when they come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
