JESUS PRAYS FOR FUTURE BELIEVERS

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

John 17:20-26  finds Jesus praying for us today, and His prayer is that we become as one with one another as He is one with the Father.  This makes me really wonder what we are doing today with regard to fellowship and love for one another in the mainstream churches.  Jesus prayed this prayer so that the world might believe that He was sent by God the Father to this world for the purpose of Salvation.

The very fact that Jesus loved us so much that He would give Himself as a sacrifice for us to open back up a door that had been closed between us and God the Father because of our sin should be enough to convince us that we should love one another.  Jesus asked the Father to allow us to be with Him...the Apostles who shared in the glory with Jesus whom God had given Him to spread this Good News, and we who are now standing with Him.

We need to be praying for one another now more than at any time in history simply because the end of all of this is so near.  We need to realize that this world will never recognize Jesus as Lord without our behavior as Christians changing.  The things that we have been asked to do are so simple that anyone could do them...love one another as we love ourselves.  Yes we are to spread the word of God and we are to tell people about Jesus Christ, but the way we do it is by the example that Jesus shows this world through our loving one another first.  One mind, one heart, and one Spirit living in all of us, and leading us all on toward unity in Christ is the answer that this world so desperately needs.

We can overpower hate with love if we just will do it.  We must also make the God and Father of this universe known to the world just as Jesus did by making the love you have for all men known by the love that we have for them and for one another.  We must have Christ at all times living and thriving within our daily lives.  This has never been meant to be easy to do for us, but it is a vital part of growing up spiritually that Christians need to experience now.

God has given us a message...a talent that He has asked us to increase in this place and we must find a way to increase it.  Put that which God has given you to work today in one another by showing your faith and love to the Christian nearest to you...then the two of you join to share that love with a third and a forth until you get the attention of those around you...that is the way we become one in Christ.  It is done together and through one another in Christ; not by trying to reach out to a world that does not care.  There are people out there who are waiting for the inspiration that they will see in your life if you catch fire for God again.  Do not disappoint them through closing yourself off from one another in the faith.  Allow God to use you today to send that message to your community that GOD IS NOT DEAD...but He lives in you...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
