THE PROPHET WITHOUT HONOR
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I am amazed that God has used me in the ways that He has because of how much I have fought against Him over the years. I believe now in my life more so than ever that I am in the center of His will for my life...finally. The things that God started out to do with me He has accomplished with me; with or without my help, and I can do nothing but praise His name for that. It speaks to God's desire to see good in us when we even deny it is there. My own life in many ways from the time I was small and genuinely asked God for Spiritual wisdom was the very first step in God's faithfulness to me in my life. Throughout all that could have happened so easily to me to survived to come back stronger spiritually than I ever thought possible, and through all of this God never let go of the ministry that He had placed within my heart.
There are times when things happen that dishonor us all in the eyes of men...even the foulest things that men can do in this life can be forgiven by God, and I believe that we as mankind need to realize that is what God has been trying to tell us in some of the parables we have been looking at. The basic message that God has given us is that He does love us so much that He found a plan that allows Him to take away the penalty of sin by the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. Paul could not go to many places that accepted him with open arms in his ministry, and that is why God sent him to the Gentiles. It was not God that rejected him , but men who rejected him. God still had a place for Paul even though he was very guilty of many sins. Jesus who went back to his home town in Nazareth found that the people did not accept Him even though he had lived right among them all of His life. We cannot accept that someone has been changed by God's Spirit for a purpose or a calling...but it is literally the fruit that comes from that Spirit that must be considered when discerning the worth of it.
We are called to discern that spirit at work in those who would make claims that they are from God or that their message should be heard and honored. In fact is is usually those who have to proclaim that they are of God that I distrust the most. I believe that the sweet Spirit of God can be sensed within us when we meet someone who is overflowing in Christ.
The conversation and the mannerisms of someone whom God is using for ministry is very evident to me within just a few moments. There are many of us whom God would use and fill with His Spirit to do mighty works but we withhold from Him the chance to have His way with our soul. We protect it like wrapping a coat tightly around us to protect ourselves from the wind. Our ministry is not being in Christ, and it is not being filled with the Spirit of God, but it only comes when our spirit overflows with God and spills over onto others. The things that we have done in the past are a part of history and of what it has taken for us to prepared for what God can do with us today...it does not have to be the thing that kills our spirit so we can do nothing in Christ.
In the world today there are very few prophets in which this world gives any honor in Christ...most have their own fame and glory, their name may well be known throughout the world, but that does not mean anything to God. Give me a simple message of love and salvation that blends perfectly with the word of God any day. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
