SEEING THE SIGNS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I made a comment recently from the Holy Spirit that really started me thinking about the small changes in our society which continue to lead us away from Christ and away from making a decision about following Christ in a real way. I was very surprised at first that the Church was right at the center of most people not making a decision about their relationship with Jesus.
I began to think back to the times when I had actually heard an invitation given for someone to come to Jesus...and I couldn't think of but a few times over the last several years that I had heard such a request being made within any church I had attended. What was so sad to me is that I was among those who had not been giving the chance for Salvation to those whom I spoke to; preferring to teach the word of God instead. After a time of repenting over this I now need to begin a campaign to correct this situation. Even in our desire to spread God's word we have been manipulated into not asking that simple question to someone else about their walk with God.
This seems to be a very wide spread problem in today's church and throughout all of the denominations particularly in the central Northern states. What relates to is a real drop in the commitment of people in their personal relationship and growth in Christ in they are already Christians, and a very false sense of security and development in those who have never yet made that choice. May people who come to the church seeking God find themselves caught in an attitude that says " I am just fine without making a commitment". What is happening is a collection of people who falsely think that their regular attendance in a church, and their acceptance by the Church people makes their decision to have a relationship with God unnecessary...but that isn't what the word tells us.
I absolutely hate being fooled by the enemy of God...or lulled into a false comfort by an enemy who's goal it is to keep people from accepting God's free gift of salvation. Even the weakest christian baby is stronger than the one who never gets around to accepting Christ. Satan has a purpose within us my dear friends; and believe me he is among those within the church probably stronger than he is with those in this world right now because he fights to create apathy and discord among the people of God. The enemy is actively working to make it so easy to preach the Gospel out of prea written scripts that sound so good and makes it so easy to not pray over it or do any real study into before delivering to a congregation; but none of them have the invitation given to accept Christ. Fellow pastors it is our job to do that, and to lead others into doing that. If you had not considered this threat before this to your church please realize that it is a very real problem...and make sure you correct it this Sunday morning. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
