AS YOU STUDY ask yourself a question
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Dear ones I want to take just a few moments to reflect on what we are really doing here this year in our study of the parables of Jesus. It is so extremely important that we get this series of teaching right...that we understand the true North, South, East. and West of what Jesus is saying to us that we should want to take the time to meditate upon it for a while.
The church within the wisdom of the men in charge of writing the denominational stances we have today have determined that it is enough to just hear the story. Because of that most people walk away without knowing any true meaning behind what is being said. If we are to grow Christians in this society we must find a way to open up their spiritual ears to hear what is said with their heart and mind. The reason that is so difficult is that most of the leadership does not really dig to bring out the meaning of these parables to us. Our job as teachers holds us accountable for what we teach or do not teach of the word. If we become too lazy to dig deeply enough most people will continue to walk away hearing only with their physical ears what has been said; and therefore unable to really apply it to their lives.
I believe it becomes the job of each one who teaches or even studies the word seriously to open up the spiritual mind and heart in the process of going through these parables. While I realize the process of doing that is somewhat different for each one of us the common ground is to awaken the Bride of Christ within us so that we can once again find and hold to reason to become united with one another and with Christ. We must find a way to be one with Christ as He is one with the Father, and it can only happen through our becoming awake spiritually and together.
During this study I have already had peoples eyes opened to things that they simply had not grasped before concerning very simple parables that frankly shocked me a bit. Hearing the word and digesting that word are very different things, and the case of missing out on the truth of these parables from Jesus to us it can be very dangerous. I know that I have several teachers and leaders that come to share in these writings, and I want for you to know that the full measure of responsibility lays on us to teach the word in complete truth. That means to me that once I have made a statement as clearly as I can make it I need to stop and go back to ask " Did you understand what I just said"? If necessary the real teaching comes back to helping others understand that very basic thing until their spiritual ears have been opened to receive what we have taught.
If you are a teacher or a leader within your church body remember that our success is not in numbers, but in the quality of what we leave inside the hearts of those we are called to in Christ. What I am teaching is not so deep or complicated...just Spirit lead so that we can squeeze out all of the juice from each one of these things that Jesus has said to us. I thank God each day for you who have been joining me in these blogs. Satan has really worked over time to try to take away my world wide contacts, but there are still a few.
For those who are in different parts of the world, if you can please spread the new e-mail and address to those whom you think could use it...perhaps some have lost it through this last Christmas Eve shut down...it would be greatly helpful to the cause of Christ in this ministry.
