The importance of bearing fruit

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

When you read the writings and the thoughts of someone it isn't long before you know what is particularly important to them; that is also the case with God's word.  Until I started to look deeper into the parables of Jesus I did not understand the importance that God has placed upon our bearing fruit or how bearing fruit in the Spirit was linked to our transformation of mind and heart.

To be very truthful the idea of of growth in general is also based upon the idea of bearing fruit because an immature plant cannot bear fruit any more than a small baby girl can have another baby.  The idea and the importance of bearing fruit is based not upon the good works that we do but the simple control that the Holy Spirit has over our lives.  We must realize first of all that by ourselves we can and will do nothing, but it is the work of the Holy Spirit within us that has any kind of ministry.  Anything good that comes from us comes from within us and is expressed outwardly...like a form of bearing fruit from a tree.  The fruit is a bi product of our relationship with God, and is found only when we are seeking after God in this life.  It is a very unique relationship where God works through our body and mind, and as He does we naturally produce the fruit of God's Spirit from within us.

The transformation of our mind and heart means that we are changing on the inside because of that relationship.  It is not our bodies that change , but our spirit which is transformed into a new creature that then fits into the Kingdom of Heaven.  Without that transformation we will not enter into the Kingdom...it's just that simple.  There are many who have accepted Jesus in a mental way, but not so in a complete way.  These people have accepted the idea of Jesus as their Lord, but they have yet to make Him Lord of their lives.

It is the people who have stood at a distance and admired God...even have worshiped Him from afar but who have never experienced any great change within their life who are at great risk in loosing everything they think they have.  I say that because when God moves into our life He causes great change to happen.  Many time it comes in a conflict between what we always were like before as we struggle with the feelings that we need to change.
Our basic outlook on life may have some great changes when we come to Christ, but it is then that we will also have great pressure to remain the same as we always were from the world around us.  Our friendships, the jokes and things we always enjoyed of the world, and many ideals and thoughts may undergo great change until we take back control...but that is just the problem.  We should no longer be in control...in fact we cannot remain in control and still be transformed by God's Spirit.  It is our own stubborn will many times that thwarts the power of God's Spirit in us toward any kind of change.  What happens then is that we remain within the church community thinking that all is well, and not realizing that by keeping God at an arms length from our hearts we have made sure that we never produce any fruit from Him at all.  That is a very sad place to be because it means that we cannot experience God completely.  We do not yet have the capacity to feel the warmth and the love of God flowing through us to another person, and we cannot remember the last time that we were compelled by the Spirit of God to do something that gave us great joy for someone in need.  Most of those people are sitting in our churches right now without a clue as to how to grow in Christ.  Strangely enough it is really up to those of us who have found that truth to show them.

I need to ask you where you are right now in your life with bearing fruit of the Spirit? If you still do not have a clue as to what I am talking about perhaps you had better get with someone who does, and then deal with this situation because it is very serious.  It is a much bigger problem within the church today than anyone knows.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
