DO NOT BE DECEIVED
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
More than ever today is the need for those who can feel , hear, and sense the power of the Holy Spirit within their lives to discern according to what the word of truth tells us what is right, pure, true, and whole. Jesus tells us to not allow ourselves to be deceived by all that we hear in this world or see that is seemingly right and yet has a part of the truth missing that will change the entire hope or meaning.
Luke 21:8-24 has Jesus starting out with the warning to not be deceived about those who will come teaching a different Gospel, and saying that they are sent of God. This is the age of information, but also the age of deception because of so much information coming to light it is all but impossible to know the truth. Many will come with many different doctrines that may seem right to the minds of men, but they will all lead to destruction. In this age it will even be hard to tell who is really of Christ and who is a deceiver unless you allow God's Spirit who is within you to judge the words you hear against the truth that is already written in the bible.
The signs that Jesus speaks of in Luke 21: are very scary things to consider, but they are also things that must come to pass as God prepares this world for the final judgment. Jesus is really speaking to us today in that chapter because of the kinds of things that are yet to come. We may not be able to tell who is of God in any other way but through the power of the Holy Spirit found in their life. That is one of the reasons it is so important for us to develop spiritual fruit together in Christ. We we know one another by our love and commitment to one another in Christ Jesus. We will find that the power of the Holy Spirit will play a much larger role in our lives in these end times because we will have to depend on His words and wisdom not our own. In these end times we will be betrayed by our families...mothers, and father...brothers, and sisters who will turn us in for our faith at the end. That means for many the only family that we will have is that of the Lord.
Does that sound harsh and scary to you?...it does to me too! What that means is it is time that we begin to build trusting relationships in the body of Christ now instead of waiting until it is too late. We have a great chance right now to make a huge difference in this world, but that window of opportunity is closing fast. It is my prayer that all of those who love Christ will become so close that this world can never defeat us. We have Christ's promises to us, and His gift of love. Bless God and one another according to your gifts in Christ today.
