WHAT IS THE TRUTH?
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
WHAT IS YOUR TRUTH? As we get into this New year there some basic questions that need to be asked of all Christians, One of those questions is what is your truth? This is one of those questions where you cannot look for answers from someone else. It is a direct question to your heart about what you have been clinging to in your life that may be separating you from God's complete will?
In many cases, we are just like Pilot asking Jesus WHAT IS TRUTH? His answer has always been " I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one come to the Father except through me" The very sad thing is that we do not seem to understand that simple truth. We can look at any and all of the denominational strains of churches including Catholic and see the tremendous effect that leaving our worship in the hands of men has done to affect the quality of our relationship with God. We find our attention spans have been stretched so far out of a simple focus on God that we worship the style and color of what we do rather than God Himself. It does not matter what style of worship we use to give God the glory, praise, and honor He deserves, but it does make a difference if He is in charge of what we are doing. If we decided to go camping as an example, and our purpose was to get close to nature, how would we go about it? Some would say a camper with all of the trimmings is the order of the day because they want to limit how much nature they really have to endure. Others want a complete experience with what is really out there so they pitch a tent and take a sleeping bag. There really isn't any right way to go camping, but the amount of exposure we allow ourselves to have with the experience of camping. We actually limit the contact we have with God by dragging our traditions, pomp, and ceremony with us as we enter into worship.
Paul told the Corinthian church that in a time when they should be teaching the true Gospel of Christ they found themselves in the need to still be feeding on the milk of the word. In other words instead of teaching the word as it is they had chosen to begin to put in their teaching their own perspective of what God meant by what He had said. It is the same thing we are doing with the word of God today. What we need to do is strip away all of that which holds us apart from one another and begin to seek after God's control of what we do and say. We need to get back to the basics of what God has asked us to do. That truth is found only through Jesus Christ and His teaching. There is a time rapidly coming where much of what we have leaned upon for comfort will be stripped away from us and we will be left with only what we need to worship in truth who God is to us. We need to ask ourselves now WHAT IS OUR TRUTH? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
THE UNWORTHY SERVANT
