EACH YEAR HAS ITS OWN CHALLENGES
I send greetings in the name of Jesus:
God intends for His plan for humanity to be played out.
There is just one problem with that, and that is our own cooperation. Never before have we been so rebellious and deceitful as we are right now. In the time of Jesus ministry the political structures were corrupt, but openly so. They were not being hidden in disguise of doing good or with the good public intent that are fooling millions into blind support of their cause.
The only recourse that God has is to take the church into hand and begin to weed out the influences of that deceit, and I believe this year is the beginning of the church seeing that very thing happen. In the midst of the worse kind of hatred and discontent that we can imagine God is going to begin to sens some clarity if we are opening our ears to hear what He is saying to us. We must come to a place where we begin to be of the same mind and the same heart in Christ before we ...any of us; will be allowed to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Let me break this down for you:
1. We cannot be forgiven unless we can forgive in the same way that we received forgiveness from God What that means is that unless we can put away our pettiness toward one another we will not see the Kingdom of Heaven any more than Moses saw the promised land for His people. No one except for God could say that Moses did not deserve to enter into the place that he had to spend forty years trying to lead Isreal into. We have not only made some great mistakes as the church, but we continue to do so with each other in our fellowship and with any kind of unity in Christ.
2. We cannot give this world something that we do not have in the churches today which is unity with one another in the power of God's Spirit. We are not one with one another as Christ is one with the Father because we are one with one another. Until that begins to happen within the church we will never have the power of the Spirit enough to affect any kind of change within this world and it is time that we realized it. What we need to start to figure out this year is how do we do that? I believe it starts with ending our rebellion against God's authority over us.
THAT ALL STARTS with our recognition of who He is, and that He actually exists. Then we have to deal with the fact that we cannot control Him; instead, we either submit to Him or to the nature we have as creatures of this world. That is the complete definition of what our free will is; to make the choice between God's will for our lives and our own rebelliousness. God cannot and will not make us change our attitude toward Him without first our repentance, and change toward His Lordship and control over our lives. So what will it be for you this year? Once we realize we must be the ones to change in order to fit into God's perfect Kingdom the next steps are obvious. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
