QUESTIONS TO ASK OURSELVES THE CHURCH DOES NOT DEAL WITH
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
1. What does it really look like to build on the foundations that Christ has already laid down?
2. What questions have you asked yourself about being either the soil or the seed?
3. What are your most favorite materials for building your life on Christ?
4. What does it really take to kill off your old nature?
These and so many other questions need to be asked and discussed within the body of Christ today because they are the place that we have grown accustomed to hiding from as citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. These are the things that we need to be the most up=front about in our spiritual lives in order to grow properly.
There is a bolder place that Christians need to find within themselves as we deal with such things. The foundations of Christ need to be established in our lives before we can actually start working on what we need to do to become healthy children of God The foundation that Jesus has established for us is based upon how much we can learn to love God first and then love Others as much as we love ourselves. Those two commands are at the very center of God's plan of salvation for us, and until we deal with those basic things can we actually say that we are off of the milk of the word of God to us? Something is telling me that if we are indeed honest about this we will have to humble ourselves quite a bit to fit into the plan that Jesus has given us about love.
We have some dear friends that are a part of a new couples study we started. The question came up about our understanding of the soil and the seeds. The question centered around if we can be one or if we can be both at different perspectives? This ends up being a question that is asked that literally hurts our head from the depth of thought. When we get into this we are called to understand what our goal is in Christ. Those who can kill off the old nature immediately begin a different journey in becoming more like Christ. As we allow the Holy Spirit to mold us we can not help but become an influence in the lives of others around us. Quite often we plant seeds in people that are more a part of us that they are of Christ. That is when we become a kind of seed of influence, and it is a time of need for great caution as we deal with the soil of someone else's life. That is why we also must deal quietly and personally with the question of what the materials are that we are using to build on the foundations of Christ with? Are we indeed using what we readily find laying all around us to form a pre-fab kind of building or are we taking the time to inspect all that we use in our lives?
You see all of these things are actually tied into what we are considering to be the foundations that have been established by Christ Himself instead of our own brand of Christianity. When we take the time to admit it we are all carrying around a kind of brand of Christ that fits us...but the question is; Are the foundations of Christ suppose to fit us, or are we supposed to fit the foundations of Christ? We will start to take some of these questions up in the next blog. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
