THE PURGING OF THE CHURCH
I send greetings in the powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior; to Him be all the glory given for now and always!
The concept of purging has been with us from the beginning of time. In general, it is a casting away of something that is not useful to us. It deals with leftover material or parts of something being built but also interestingly, it can also deal with people and things in our personal life that may become a weight that is left upon our lives that tends to hold us back from reaching a goal
Let me be perfectly clear here...God has a goal in mind for the church that He has established, and a future in mind for those who are His own Children in the Kingdom that He has been preparing for us all to dwell in for all eternity. That goal has been set to His standards of perfection and cannot be changed through any manipulation from mankind or powers or principalities in heavenly places. The goal is first of all for us to accept Him as Lord, and then become one with each other in a state of unity of both mind and heart so that we are always in accord with both one another and with the Spirit that dwells within us; and in that is where the battle takes place.
We already know that we and God cannot be in charge of us at the same time, and yet that is where in our minds the picture of what God is doing is so unclear. We don't even understand what "FREE WILL" is. FREE WILL has nothing to do with our being in control of anything at all, but it is given to us for one purpose only; that is to choose who it is that we will serve. That choice makes a big difference between who we are doomed as mankind to serve, and who we are given an opportunity to serve and be with Him out of love. It is our clarity on this one point about who we are and why we are here that we must first get right before we can get anything else right. It is this which is behind all of the other things that we are going be discussing concerning the church, and why God is having to do what He will have to do to complete His Plan of Salvation for us.
Although I do not consider myself any kind of prophet; with regard to this I am called on by the Holy Spirit to do some " TRUTH TELLING". With that in mind, I need to address the elephant in the room here which is that I don't see us doing a lot of fellowshipping or working very hard to be on the same page as churches of various denominations today. We are instructed by Jesus Christ to be unified in one another and in Him as He is unified in the Father, but we are not so what that means is that Good must change something to make that happen.
It is that process of pruning that is so hard for us to deal with because quite frankly it means that we must make some choices about ourselves and about what we are willing to accept as truth from God. This whole thing will not only be very intrusive to our lives, but it will also change our relationship with the world around us. This change will have to deal with not only our personal Spiritual fruit but also what we have been listening to and being told was the complete Gospel from Christ. In order for me to set this up so that it is understandable for everyone there are many things that we have a great amount of freedom within our worship of God, but many things that we have specifically been told we need to do that we are not doing that will change the way we see the church and our role in it.
I want to start to address some of the basic things God has shown me this week so stay with me. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
