ARE YOU READY FOR SOME OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS?
GREETINGS IN THE WONDERFUL NAME OF JESUS:
In Matthew 16:13 Jesus asked Peter some very open-ended questions. "WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?"
It is the same question that God is asking us today, and if we have His Spirit abiding inside of us the answer will be easily answered, and if not we will only be able to fake it so far before we will be rooted out and cut off.
All of the postings we have chosen to make online about our belief in Christ will do no good unless we can truly say from our heart that we have surrendered to God's love. There are many of us who claim Christ in our lives that continue to have doubts whenever a prayer isn't answered in the way we think it should be, or when we are pressed a little hard by life in general, and that tells me that our faith is extremely weak.
The truth iis that we cannot really know who Christ is without His Holy Spirit is actively involved in our life. Something tells me that many of the leadership within the churches today that should be concentrating on bringing its people to a full knowledge of God's Spirit is simply not doing their job. Because of so much information at our fingertips today it is hard for us to tell who really has the comforter inside and who is merely spiting back things they have read from another person. It is extremely important that we all have experience, and I mean life experience with the Holy Spirit being in charge of our lives. There isn't any other way to gain the faith necessary for us to be able to say as Peter did " Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God" without being influenced and taught by the Holy Spirit living in us.
We might say " Oh I couldn't bear to live without Jesus" and yet most of us do every day during the week, and we run to church on a Sunday morning like a drug addict getting a quick fix. Church we need more than a weekly fix for us to become transformed by the renewing of our mind and heart. We need to be grafted into the vine for a permanent source of life to be infused into our very soul. we need desperately to go back to the roots of what we believe and to practice those things that we have learned until they become a part of who we are. That means much more than memorization of scripture so that we can use it to spit back at someone in support of a doctrine that we only have a vague belief in or understanding of. Paul said, " I know whom I have believed in". He could say that because He had a daily and moment to moment contact with God through the power of His Holy Spirit as he was taught all over again what the scripture really meant that he thought he already knew. As knowledgable as Paul was in the law of Moses he still had to go back and relearn the very basics of what Christ taught about the Law through God's Holy Spirit, and so do each one of us if we have any intention of changing our carnal nature and becoming creatures that fit into the Kingdom of a perfect Heaven.
We should want to really understand those things that we should be every day through our spiritual nature instead of having to dodge issues that come up or be embarrassed about thinking that we are not knowledgeable enough to speak up about our faith. Every one of us has the chance to live and practice the things that are foundations to our faith in Christ. We don't think we can do it because we never have done it...that means it is new to us, but it does not mean we can't do it or live it out in front of others. It is as easy as picking out a different little principal we already know of and putting it into practice for that day....no more than baby steps, but we have to learn how to walk somehow. Take yourself back to the foundations and start to rebuild. As you do you will find things that need to be put together better or perhaps replaced with something more solid and trustworthy. Allow yourself to do that in order to grow in Christ. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
