WHAT IS IT THAT YOU ARE REALLY MADE OF?

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

For a lot of people in our churches, this is as foreign a question as they can ever get asked simply because it is an unspoken topic in our churches today.  There is a great fear of offending someone by asking them where their heart really is when having a relationship with God and being in this world?

There are a few absolute truths to deal with in this thought.  One is found in John 10:27-30  "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. I and my Father are one."

There is no question that God knows exactly who we are even before we ever start on this journey, however, most of the time we never find out who we were created to be.  For a very long time, I did not even try to test what I was using to build my faith with for fear I might find something within me that I needed to go back and correct but then began to realize that all that I build upon Christ's foundation is going to be tested with fire, and if I choose the lesser quality materials now to use in my life I may well end up losing everything else that I had built because of a critical failure in a supporting part of what I have built.  Like anything that is built, it is the things that hold the structure securely that must be of the highest quality.  This becomes particularly important when we are listening to God as He tells how to build.  What materials are we using to build our relationship with Christ?  The fact is that many of us are using what someone else has told us to build with instead of reading and praying for ourselves.  Lord knows there are plenty of instruction manuals written every day on how to build a life in Christ.  There are so many in fact that it becomes a blur as to what is real and what is simply being used as a tool of distraction.  I have learned that if you want the truth then go only to where the truth can be found.

The foundations of our faith are very simple and clear, and today I have shared with you the fact that if you are in Christ you will be particularly tuned into His voice when He speaks.  I don't know how many of us are obeying what they hear, but most of us know the truth when He speaks it to us. Many people start looking for a symbol or a sign that they are on the right track, and when you start that there will always be a lure away from the truth because of this world's desire to deceive.  We are made of many different things from the time of our birth until this very moment.  Our minds and hearts are growing and changing every day as we develop our faith and our love for God.  This means that we will constantly be open to being influenced by the experiences and circumstances we have.  The most important thing that we can realize in this daily change of who we are becoming is that we cannot afford to get away from the most simple of the foundations that God has asked us to build upon which is our love for both God and for others before us.  What are you allowing your life to be made of today? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
