THE PRODUCTIVITY OF USING A SWORD

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:


 God has given us a lot of tools to use in our own personal battle against the enemy.
 We all do battle with the principalities and powers in this world in many different ways, but the goal should always be in the same mind and Spirit of Christ.
 In order to accomplish that we must first be able to communicate with one another, and that can be a real challenge to being able to move forward or make any real progress.  What is it then that must be the guide to our behavior with one another?  It must be a combination of God's word and the complete control of the Holy Spirit within us in every given situation.  By far the most difficult for some people is the idea of not controlling things.  We are created to control but to be a conduit for God to flow through to others.  In the same way, we do not create our own light but reflect the light that God is allowed to shine through us to others so it is with any progress we make in ministry to another person.
  In a very real way, this life or death struggle we live in is based upon the kind of death we are willing to endure first and then the kind of life we are willing to lead when we are raised with Christ into that new life.  Our productivity is based upon the fruit we bear for Christ Jesus and it has very little to do with anything at all that we may want or control.  The truth is that unless we can go through with this process in Christ of first death and a Ressurection to a new life it becomes very likely we will not experience much in the way of any kind of fulfillment either, which in my mind is truly sad.

  You see we are not supposed to be living our life any longer but Christ is supposed to be living through us; I doubt however if that is hardly true at all. with the great majority of us who call Christ Lord.  I believe that is because most of us are still fighting with the Spirit of God for life and control instead of allowing our selves to die and be buried so that we can be raised into that new life in the first place.  We all must ask the question of what it will take for us to go through the actual process of death burial and resurrection that Christ calls for in His Plan of Salvation.  Using a sword is  a metaphoric way of putting the old nature to death, and yet just as it had to be the determined will of Christ to lay down His life for a world around Him  that hated light and loved darkness; so too it is our responsibility to choose to put our old nature to death for the love we share in Jesus.  God does not kill our old nature, we do.  I want to begin to get into some of this starting with the next blog series.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
