THINKING ABOUT CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Our thoughts are turning toward the Christmas Season now, and we are in the middle of the hurry-scurry of the upcoming celebrations and gifts.  As we look into our hearts and minds there are feelings that come back to us from the past that makes us realize how much of our lives have changed.  When I look at scenes like the tree seen here my mind goes to the memories of light that surrounded me as a child.  Today I look on a light...especially Christmas lights as a symbol of Hope.  We see such small amounts of Hope welling up in people today. Many have already started to give up on any kind of real Hope from this world.  I think there is a force that has been trying to stamp out things like Hope, and Love for a long time because without those things in play the meaning for all of us tends to fade to black.  I know that someday that very thing will happen; when the world stamps out all Hope for a future with any kind of light because God has already said it is coming, and unless it were not for the elect there would be absolutely no one left.  God has said " but for the sake of the Elect in Christ, I will cut those days short.  You see friends all of this; no matter how dark it may get is a part of God's plan of Salvation, and this world must go through it.

As we think back on the days that have now past us we can remember when the lights were so bright to us.  This is a time of the year when we not only can remember those lights that gave great Hope to us but today we have become the light-bearers so that this world can still feel and see the Hope that this world so badly needs.  Don't allow this to become another Holiday that has no real meaning.  It is still Jesus who is the light of this world as He shines through each one of us.  So let your light keep shining this year my dear ones so that we may still reflect that light we have within our hearts allowing God's Spirit to minister through us.  I pray that we can all become a Christmas beacon for the world around us so that Hope may shine brightly for those around us.

I think I would like to devote more time to this subject in the next blog because we need to understand better God's view of what we are experiencing here.  Look for it ...I call it "The Flicker of Hope"  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
