THE GIFT

Greetings in the name of Jesus:


 We are all given a gift in life that is beyond measure. It is sad that we only celebrate that gift one season out of the year, and it is even sadder that we really don't understand what the gift is that we celebrate.  John 3: 16  speaks to us about love, and almost any Christian will say that the gift is Salvation from sin, but the real gift given to us is light.  John3:19-21 " This is the verdict Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does
evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light so that it might be seen plainly what he has done has been done through God.."

  It won't be long now before we are opening our gifts to one another this year as a celebration of that light.  Take the time when you look upon the lights on your tree this year to think about the light that has come into this world for us, and the way we have treated that light of truth. Each one of us has reason enough to give God the glory for what He has done individually in our lives, but I thank God that Jesus brought us the light that we can see and hear the truth if we will look and listen for it.

 It is becoming more important than ever before that we actively seek after the light that Jesus Christ has brought into this world and that we learn how to use the light that has been given to us effectively so that the truth might be revealed to this world.  You are right if you say: "BUT THEY WON'T LIKE IT!  We already know how much this world hates the light; we can see that every day, but itis our job to keep reminding them of that truth.  If we do nothing else but keep the light in front of them it will be enough for the world to hate you just like it hated Jesus, and for the same reasons.  You see this world cannot run or hide from it'self.  The world cannot go to sleep and escape it's the soul or the Spirit of truth within it because we were created with it.  For many today we think our gifts are under a tree somewhere in a loved one's home, but in truth, the real gift lives within you for it is the light that Jesus brought into this world.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
