WHAT SHOULD YOUR COMMITMENT BE TO THE WORLD?
Greetings in Jesus to all who are living and serving the one true God:
We have been changed! At least that is what should be going on in our lives!
What does it mean to you when the world starts to demand some kind of double standard when it comes to our making the same human mistakes that everyone else makes? In truth our relationship with the world around us begins to change when we come to Christ. We may not see it at first because the world actually hates Christ, and in particular it hates the spirit that Christ has left within us when we give our lives to Him.
This Spirit of God within us may not cause tremendous problems at first, but when the influence of Christ begins to be seen and felt in our dealings with those around us we will very soon find we are no longer accepted as a friend among the circles we used to be in. The world will soon treat us as spy status and worse the more we walk with God. We need not feel this to be anything unexpected in our lives because after all; we are supposed to be trading this life ad the cares of this world to and interest in God's promises to us if we really believe. 1 John 3:11-14 which tells us the reason that Cain slew Able was because one was righteous and the other was jealous. It came out in an act of anger and hate, which is exactly the way this world will react to anything that even remotely counter to it's desire and will. Do not be surprised when the world suddenly turns against you as you try to follow Christ. As far as our personal witness is concerned we really don't have to do anything special except live according to te teachings of Jesus for the world to hate us. John 13:34-35 tells us about this greatest command ...the one the world hates so much is that of loving one another. If we love as God loves it destroys all that this world has built up to be true. It takes away the options of killing or of wanting something that someone else has because we no longer want to cheat and lie and steal from those we care about.
Can we see the change within us from the time that we came to Christ? We should be able to, but even more important others certainly see a change in the attitude and in the desires we have to love someone else even if it costs us something of our own. The point is that we each have been given a particular ministry, and a direction that we have a desire to go in at some point in life. 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 that ministry is a ministry of reconciliation between God and mankind all over the world, but the world and the powers that govern the world do not want any kind of reconciliation to happen between men and God, and will do everything it can to make sure it never happens. Sadly for most of mankind it will never happen unless we can change that mindset. If we look around us in this world very few people will ever accept Christ in a way that really matters. That is something that most never realize. Our mission is to be ambassadors of Christ to a very hostile world. There is a tremendous amount to talk about when it comes to the work that Christians in general are purposed to do for God, and we will be getting into that deeper as we discuss things. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
