THE HOLY SPIRIT why the battle is often lost 2
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
WHY IS THE BATTLE FOR THE POWER OF GOD'S SPIRIT WITHIN US SO OFTEN LOST?
If we look closely at this we will see a disconnect between what we claim and what we do as Christians especially where the word of God comes into play. Let's start by looking at the word in Psalms 119:105 " The word is. a lamp unto my feet; a light unto my path" This tells me that first of all the word is this to me. If I don't use this word in this way I will no doubt be walking in darkness' It is funny how God can warn us without accusing us at the same time but we need to know that if we do walk in the darkness there is plenty of things that we won't see that will trip us up. Proverbs 16:18 " Pride goes before destruction and haughtiness before a fall". That pretty much says it all. If we think we know and we feel that we want to be in control we begin to dim the lights in our ability to see clearly. We really are slowly building up for ourselves a trap that we will get caught up in. The dark is the one place that the enemy of God still has the advantage over the child of God. The word has many things to say about our separation from being in the light of God's truth and word. Luke 9:26 tells us from the words of Jesus " If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will ashamed of him when He comes in His glory and in the glory of the Father and of the Holy Angels". Reading God's word allows Him to speak His will to our hearts. Jesus said " If you seek to save your life you will lose it, and if you seek to lose your life for my sake you will save it" by that He meant if we seek to hold on to this form of life; this temporary life that we now live; to transform our thoughts and our desires into what the mind of Christ desires from us we will end up losing this life anyway and have nothing. If we try to find Godin the things that really matter to us by giving Him time and attention we will find our eternal life while we give this one in service to Him. 1 John 2:15-17 speaks to the fact that many will indeed wander off to follow the ways of this world because they loved the ways of wickedness more so than the ways of God, but this shows that even a donkey can be used to tell the truth of God's word when no one else will. For some people the lack of trust in God is so strong they can not find a way to trust or love God without great effort. The only thing that can overcome the lack of trust is love.
John 3:16 tells us that God has so loved us that He sent His only Son as a sacrifice to pardon the sin that has separated us from Him all this time. Romans 8:32 asks the question "If God gave His only Son up for us will He not also give uus Grace and mercy?" All that is needed is for us to be willing to trust Him enough out of the love that He has already shown for us to ask for His forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ.
