THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PROPER ATTITUDE

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

The only real hope that we have is in Christ alone, and the only way that we can develop that hope is by getting as close as we can to Christ through His Holy Spirit within us.  It becomes the temptation and the testing that is given to us that we want to blame for our inability to surrender to the work of the Holy Spirit within us. The word tells us in  1 Corinthians 10:13 " No temptation has seized you except what is common to man, and God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."  This becomes a pretty great promise to us but we only refer to the part " No man will be tempted beyond what He is able to bear"  Tha is what we hear when we read this passage but that is not what is written,

 1.  We are not under any kind of special attack fro other people in this world when we are tempted because nothing has seized you except what is common to this world.  We must somehow get beyond what this world is telling us about ourselves and begin to realize that GOD IS FAITHFUL  He is faithful in His promise to find us an escape path somewhere from the thing that has seized our hearts and minds in this world, but that escape path may not at all be a natural solution.  It most certainly won't be a solution that this world can or will understand It will be a spiritual solution.

That spiritual solution will no doubt involve prayer' Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called to His purpose. In the very next verse, it also says that there would be some of us who were called to be conformed to His likeness in a sort of predestined way.  I think that I find that to be true as I get deeper into God's word and in His will for what He has called me to.

2. We all respond to tribulation in different ways, but God does expect us to respond to tribulation by growing into the likeness of Christ.  God wants this world to look at us and to see His Son instead of us as the person we were.  That is what our transformation should all be about. In Romans 5:3-5 it speaks of that transformation as we can see the things that are brought out of us through tribulation when we are in Christ.  It tells us that perseverance develops character, and character develops hope, and hope does not disappoint us because God has poured out His love to us through the power of His Spirit.

3. we see the results of this tribulation in James 1:3-4 in that this tribulation is doing a work in us so that we might be able to grow and be strengthened by becoming mature in Christ. I think it is important that we try to be as much a servant in this work as we can be.  It is not ourselves that we need to draw attention to, but it is to Christ in us.  There are two scriptures that kind of explain the purpose of being unrecognizable as an individual in the work of blessing others with the Gospel of Christ: 2 Corinthianns1:3-4 and Hebrews 12:6-11.  In particular, this last one in Hebrews spells out the fact that none of the things that we face as tribulation are going to be pleasant but they are there for a reason.  It is a reason that we must learn to accept and have faith in God's love and Spirit to pull us through it.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
