WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?

Dear ones in Christ: I send you greetings in the name of Jesus:

Lately, I have had many people asking about why I don't earn more money with my art work.  I simply tell them that it is a gift from God that I use to bless others with and it is not seen as a commodity.  In life I have used it for my work, and at one point I tried to make it my Carrier.  I have never really found myself completely successful in anything in this life apart from the use of what and who I am as a vessel of God.  I find that what ever I do lends itself to that format  and use in this life so the older I get the more I lean that direction.

This brings to my mind a question that we should probably discuss in greater detail that gets a little personal.  WHAT IS THE CHRISTIAN LIFE TO YOU?  We can go through all of the standard answers that we have learned in church or we can get down to some real business about YOUR LIFE IN CHRIST.  The Holy Spirit is beginning to push me into  this subject more as time goes on because I believe we are going to be forced to deal with this very personal subject soon in this life.

Like anything else when we start to speak about  our life in Christ we need to consult the scripture and what it tells us about what this life should be to us.  If we can keep this very personal we can ask
1. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU?  The word of God tells us about life as a NEW CREATION 2 Corinthians 5:17, but that new creation isn't something that happens to you, it is something that develops within you and grows out of you into all that is around you.  That means that as this happens there are different evidences of change that happen within your life that just cannot happen without people seeing it in you.  Some of these changes are in things that have started to pass away in your life.  They may be likes and habits that seem to be less important to you than ever before; or it may be the people that you have always hung around with don't seem to share the same thoughts and values that you do any longer.  This loss or passing away of things can seem lonely at first until you replace those losses with the new things that are drawing your attention now.  This newness needs to be understood much better than it is because it brings responsibility with it that we have never had before. John 3:3 tells us from Jesus own words " We must be born again" but what does that really mean to you?

As I have said from the beginning IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE AN EXPERIENCE WITH GOD.  There has always been a time and a place  where you have remembered making that decision to follow Christ for real.  Somewhere inside of you there was a moment when that spark entered into your life; it may not have been greatly dramatic, or it may have been a life death situation, but I know that each one of us has an experience on the inside that we will never forget, and it is important to hold it close to us and remember it well enough to be able to share it with others.  Let;s take some time to discuss this a bit further this week.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
