WHAT JESUS SAID ABOUT OUR WITNESSING
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Many things have been said over the last few weeks about our witness in Christ, and among the most important has been the honesty that we have shown to this world about our relationship with Christ through the relationship that we have developed with one another. It is that relationship that shows the world around us how truthful we are about God being a part of our lives.
Jesus told us " you are the light of this world, and the salt of this earth, but if the light is hidden or the seasoning has lost it's flavor it can be no good except to be trodden under the feet of men" Unless we are truthful with our personal relationship with God we will never be able to show a real witness of God through our lives. This does not happen through trying to be more religious than someone else, but truthful in our relationship with God. I believe this includes showing righteous anger without sinning at what we see happening around us in this world. I believe it is calling the sin we see being done by our government and officials into the light of truth so that it can be exposed. I believe that it also calls for us to be truthful about the anger and frustration we sometimes feel about our own life and inability to maintain a truthful walk with Christ; even to the point of confessing our failures to one another and sometimes to those who are watching our life to see the truth.

We all fail from time to time to live out Christ in our lives, but that is not the problem for those who watch our lives, the problem comes when we try to pretend that everything is alright when everyone knows we have problems. The real truth of our witness comes when we show others how God leads us through those troubles and is faithful to be with us through the rials and problems we have in life. Can people trust us when all we can give them is words? I don't believe that we live in a world any longer who can afford to trust in words alone because they have seen what happens when they believe in words without substance behind them. It is extremely important that we can show the world that there is substance behind God's love for them by showing the substance of our love for one another first. The light that we reflect from God's love through us must be shown first, and it must at all costs be seen as consistent and certain. If the love and care for one another is seen to be no more than what the world shows forth as good works of men and women no one will come to Christ through the testimony of what we live out in our lives. That is why Jesus refers to the race we run in this life as being one of endurance instead of speed. We cannot be consistent without showing what it is like to fail in Christ as well as to win in Christ. This world has only been shown what it thinks of as success through words of a deceitful world. It is most important that we as children of God be truthful about who we are in Christ, and begin to show this world how to cope with the times when life does not favor us. I believe that is why the Church grows during times of persecution, trial and difficulty. The people outside of Christ have nowhere to turn for help in those times. We on the other hand do... May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
