VIEWS ON EMOTIONS FROM GOD'S VIEW
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Many of us can look at a picture or think of someone in our lives that bring an automatic response and set of emotions to mind. The things that touch our hearts are varied, but we should all be able to understand God's emotional view of us as His most precious creation. I take comfort in holding and loving my little dog Piper in my lap.
While she does nothing really to help me achieve anything I do in a day she still gives me comfort and love in her small way. I have adopted her as my own family member since she was born, and now she is almost 13. My point in this is that we too can do nothing to help God in the tasks that He has set out to accomplish except for our support and our love given to Him as best we can. In God's view that is more than enough to want to keep us around, yet emotionally we think we must control or do something for Him when all He needs is for us to lay in His lap and love Him.
When we look at the various things that Jesus spoke about when it comes to the ways we feel we see pretty quickly that God's main concern was that we focus on Him and upon the goal of this endurance race which is entering into the Eternal Kingdom of Heaven so we can forever be with God. Once again we can look at the simplicity of what Christ was saying about the Plan of Salvation by the singular focus that is made on keeping our eyes on God alone. We are trying to become incorporated with God's Kingdom, and not trying to incorporate God into this world; and I believe we miss that point an awful lot in life. In Matthew 5:27-48 Jesus continues to show us that nothing that we really do or ever want can compare to the life that God has promised us with Him. There is no lust of the flesh or desire of the eye or mind that can compare to what God has prepared for those of us who are willing to love Him with all of our hearts. It may seem funny to some , but when I look at what Jesus said about feeling so strongly about our obedience to God that we would cut off or pluck out and offending eye or hand our normal response is to shy away from such a thing because we would not think that God would want us so devote as to maim ourselves rather than to be disobedient; yet unless we are willing to lay down even our very life let alone become maimed in the process of our obedience what good is our faith to us? Jesus spoke about the only reason for divorce was unfaithfulness; and yet what does unfaithfulness mean to God?
In most minds unfaithfulness in a marriage means adultery and yet Jesus spoke of adultery being able to be overcome in a marriage, but He did say that He considered unfaithfulness a reason for divorce. I have a question for you...how do you feel God thinks about our unfaithfulness to Him? When it comes to the vows we make in this life Jesus said "Let you yes be yes, and your no be no"because we all tend make vows without thinking what it means. It is interesting how very different some of what Jesus actually said is from what we have made it to become. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
