ARE WE STILL FOLLOWING THE COMMANDS CHRIST GAVE US?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Over many years now I have been trying to bring an awareness to you of the tremendous need that we have to stay very close to the original teachings that have been given to us by Christ alone concerning our relationship with God.

The more time that passes the more I am beginning to see the churches around us fall away from the real critical commands that Jesus had given us about our on-going relationship, and our important responsibilities in maintaining that, and in fact growing closer to God through it each day we live.  The fact still remains that as of this moment I am still sensing many churches being very slowly lead away from the original concepts that Jesus sat down with us as  God's children.

Today there is a definite push toward a new social style of belief that avoids the directive that God has given us that tells us that we must become transformed by the renewing of our mind and heart.  What we seem to be getting in our churches today places the emphasis upon God having come to die upon the cross of Calvary to take away all of our sins, but nothing is ever said about our responsibilities other than saying that we believe that Jesus is the Son of God and accepting that free gift from God.  The truth is that this is a good beginning for us , but also a good way to die on the vine unless we take the next steps to actually grow in Christ and bear fruit of the Spirit in our lives.

I have seen a great deal of attention given to the concept of love being the basic foundation of Christ's message, but that is not all of the messages that God has given us to explain His Plan of Salvation.  This foundation is also built upon the action taken upon the real belief that Jesus is God's Son and the messenger of the Good News. If we actually do believe this then there are a whole list of things that should be a part of who we become as a result of that belief.  Among the main things, we should see in our lives is a change in our minds and hearts toward God's directives for us.  As we start to feel the effects of God's Holy Spirit at work within our lives we will see an increase in our desire to serve God in whatever ways we can. We cannot serve God effectively without bearing Spiritual fruit in our everyday lives. For us, as Christians, it has become the time in our society to live out what we claim to believe in because the world around us will no longer take our word that we can love better than they can.  God must be shown to those around us in a way that they can relate to reality instead of an ideal.  In order to do that we must concentrate on our own lives being lived out for Christ in front of the world.  The world needs to see the truth before they will believe, and even at that, the hearts of men and women are growing colder to one another each year that goes by.  We are winding down in this world with chances to bring others to a real understanding of God for their lives slipping away more every day.  If you  take the time to stand very still for a while you can almost feel the changes happening within this world.  Each moment that passes the hate from the bottled up evil within this world is gathering  force...it feels to me like a great volcano that is just waiting for God to release it into this world; and my friends that time is coming.  Jesus told us that we will be able to see he storm as it is rolling in spiritually, and I can see clearly some very dark clouds coming our way!

For those of us who can see that coming it falls upon us to do all that we can to help others who cannot yet see to prepare for the violence that is surely to come upon us.  Continue to pray for me my friends that I might yet have the strength physically to carry my purpose forward.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
