NOT A FAN of playing at church

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Some of you already get where I am going with this from the title of this blog, and then there are others who may still wonder where my mind has gone?  We have been lulled into a state of numbness when it comes to seeing the collection of comforts around is in our churches today.  They reflect who we think we are in Christ...most are beautifully built mansions compared to the homes we live in, and even then most are living well beyond their income levels, and going into tremendous debt to do so.

I can't really find anywhere in scripture where a church should have a huge bank account earning compound interest in case of a rainy day.  I can't find anywhere when the church paid someone else to do all of their praying or studying for them.  I don't find anyone in the first church simply throwing money at something so that someone else would do the work for them.  From the beginning God has intended for us to get involved in our relationship with Him. As I look upon today's churches I see only a small percentage of people who are really actively involved in their faith.  Most people are under this idea that someone else is getting paid to do that work. We may feel that our obligation to God is finished when we put money into the plate as it passes by, but that is hardly what God wants from us.  God does not need our money or our possessions because He is the creator...He already owns everything that we have and everything we are...every breathe that we take.

If we take the time to think about this wonderful privilege we we have been given to inter react with God while we still live here in this life.  God gives us a chance to feel what a little bit of Heaven would be like with one another through the body of Christ yet we have to get out of the way long enough to really allow God to make that possible.  It is a very strange combination of our will to choose God, and yet still yield to His Lordship over us.

We think we need to have control over things in order to be safe, but in truth our real security is not in our control, but in our giving everything to God and staying in His arms. The question is can we do that sincerely today?  What does it take for you to to trust God enough to give Him your life?  We must find a way to take those final steps of faith and love to allow God control, but cannot be done by paying someone else to do the work for us.  The Christian life has never been designed to be easy for us...offering salvation was certainly not easy for God to give us...in fact Lucifer never thought that God would go that far for us, and yet perfect love will cast away all doubt and all fear of loss of it's own.

When we can begin to understand that perfect love will never let go of us...if we are to be lost it will have to be our choice to be lost because has done all that can be done for us.  I pray that we can begin to respond correctly to perfect love...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
