I'M NOT A FAN
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Beginning this fall we will be studying a series called "NOT A FAN", and while I have no idea what the content of this will be { I didn't write it} I am sure it will be a very good way to end the year.
What comes to my mind , however, when I do think about those three words is a ton of things within this world that I am no longer a fan of...things that I have turned my heart away from that at one time I found myself in the middle of that gave me great pain. One of those things is in how I felt about relationships. I have continually learned about how to build and develop relationships with all kinds of people as I walked with Christ in this life. It is sad to say that in my earlier Christian walk I found that I was very negative toward any Christian or church that did not share in what I considered to be the truth.
I found out that the truth was much more than I was allowing it to be, and that for the greatest part it was me that was wrong and not everyone else. What I found out as I studied the word of God was that His truth could never be held within my small cup of understanding, and that for the greatest part it was me that had to grow spiritually enough to understand the reasons for the diversity of worship and gifts of the Spirit were given around the world to THE CHURCH. It was because all of the word of God, and all of the gifts needed to be at work within the church, but God knew it would not be accomplished through men but through the power of His Spirit. As we see people working in the various gifts of the Spirit of God around this world in the name of Christ we cannot get upset that they do not have our churches Brand Name on them. The competition that we have created within the body to be correct scriptural is rather laughable when I think about God's agenda of the use of all of the gift that God has given us all around this world.
We must come to a place where we can understand that God is still God, and that He will do what He needs to do in various places in this world to draw men unto Him. When I consider the fact that still today people are being raised from the dead, and healing's are taking place in places where they cannot be faked. Limbs are being restored in some cases because men and women need to see that kind of truth happen before their eyes before they will believe. In some places these things have to take place because men need some kind of hope to cling to...and believe me in some of the places within this world there is no hope left. As we grow in Christ we need to realize that those who are going as missionaries are simply going as an extension of the church that you and I are just a small part of. We need to quit fighting and competing with one another and start pulling together in Christ Jesus. The more I study the word the more I am seeing this truth about our pettiness and competition hurting hurting the cause of Christ. God knows what He is doing and we need to allow Him to lead and direct us. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
