INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Greetings in Jesus:

Today it seems like some of the most drawing kinds of words come with the ideas of investing in something that is going to really pay of big for us.  I just heard a message last Sunday that explained some about the various kinds of investment that we make in life, and one of the biggest is our investment in one another in Christ.

This is never easy, and sometimes it does not yield in the same ways we think is should because we seem to always be the ones required to produce the fruit from our lives while showing others God's grace through us.  One of the big issues for many people is the time we spend being fruitful only to turn back around and start to be pruned by God so that we can bear more fruit.  It seems too often that it is that cycle we go through that gets us discouraged.  The only way that can become immune to the weariness of investing our lives in God and His work through us to this world is to rethink what we are actually investing in.  The reason we serve God is for what He has already done for us...and the thought that it is really our on-going relationship with God that allows us to be used by His Spirit should tell you we are investing in an eternity, and not just working for a prize.

The concept of running to finish the course instead of trying to win a race has been set before us from the start and yet it has been very difficult for many to understand.  Why run a race just to finish the course when we should be in the race to win?The truth is that most who start out running this race will never finish it...that is how difficult the race is.  For us to run and finish the course that is set before us throughout this life we will deal with the most difficult races of our life which all deal with commitment and loyalty.  Our investment is not just in our own future, but the future of all of those around us whom we love...it deals with the truth and the ultimate justice that we have so wanted to see in this world because it invests in the judgement of Christ on this world when He comes again.

In everything we do in this life we have been taught to always do something with the idea of getting a return on our investment.  The greatest return you can have is life with God for all eternity, but accepting it enters you into the race that simply asks you to finish the course that is set before you...even after accepting Jesus I still wonder how many will finish that course?  I'll be praying for you as I covet your prayers for me as well.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
