SPIRITUAL IMPRESSIONS what do we mean?
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I am probably more guilty of this than anyone...but we tend to throw around spiritual words that no one really understands today. I know that in my own conversations with people I will often use "Churchy" words to describe things that tend to go over others understanding because I have not taken the time to break down the real meaning from my heart as to what I mean.
The Lord wants for us to be real people to others whom we come in contact, and that starts with connecting to people in a language they can relate to. It isn't that we should not understand the language or words that describe spiritual things, but it is important that we try to avoid throwing around words that others cannot relate to. We have to describe what we have within our hearts from our hearts or it just does not connect. In our small church we have a lot of people who are recovering from an addictions and trials by fire. We are seeking to find a way to be "Real people" to one another first and then to the community around us secondly. In order for us to accomplish that task we must have a continuity in what we both say and do.
There is a tremendous change that is going through this country right now which tells even the average person to be careful of what someone tells them. People are beginning to wake up to the lies that are being told all around them, and so they are not willing to listen to what someone tells them on face value the way they used to. That is really good news for those of us who are truly in Christ because it gives us a chance to not only speak the truth , but to live the truth out in front of others. This kind of skepticism is true all over this world right now because of the generation of deceit we live in. We can no longer simply say we love God without actually loving God. We cannot show the truth of our beliefs without demonstrating those beliefs through the actions of our lives; first of all to one another as a way of showing there really is that kind of love, and then to the community that lives around us through our desire to share the truth we have found in Christ with them. Jesus Christ washed the feet of His disciples just before He was betrayed to show them that those who would be the greatest among us would first of all become servants to all. What then does it mean to you really to be a part of Christ? It will be seen in your words most assuredly , but also within your actions toward your fellow Christians and to those who God has given to you to be Mentors of in this life.
The only way that we can be thought of as real people as Christians is through living out what we say we believe. I pray that you would find a way to be even more real this week than you have ever been. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
