THE DANGER OF FALSE TEACHERS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Like it or not there has never been a time in world history when we have seen more Godless men in positions of high power. That is why the messages found in rarely read books of God's word like JUDE begin to be so important for us to focus on this year.
In it's entirety this this scripture contends with our faith in God, and about many who are posing right now as Godly men but who in secret are false teachers who's purpose is to lead us away from the saving power of Jesus Christ. In Jude verse 5 the writer begins to explain how the Jews as a whole nation were delivered out of the bondage of Egypt and yet for those who would not believe He destroyed them in the desert. It is just as it was with the angels who had abandoned their home in Heaven are kept in darkness and chains until the day of judgement. Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns that gave themselves over to sexual immorality and perversion suffered the wrath and punishment of eternal fire. It will be the same way with these who have become dreamers who are polluting their own bodies rejecting authority of God over them and slandering the heavens.
There are many things that are not left to our understanding in the word of God, and that is for a reason. These men and women however find it within themselves to create answers to these questions that pop up but which have no bearing on our salvation or faith in Christ. They use these things to create different paths for the believer to chase after that leads to different rabbit holes that have still no real answer to them. It becomes just a waste of time that keeps our minds occupied on something else rather than our relationship with God and any Spiritual growth that we may have achieved.
These unanswered things need be left to God to deal with on our behalf. Although these injustices happen everyday of our lives it is not we who should deal with the judgment or the punishment of such things , but God. Verse 11 " Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error; they have been destroyed in Korah's rebellion" 12: These men are blemishes at your love feast, eating with you without the slightest qualm...Shepard's who feed only themselves. "
The description goes on in a very unflattering way to let us know that these men and women are not a true part of God's family, but sent by the enemy to disrupt divide and destroy the unity that God's Holy Spirit has been given to create among us. In many cases these people are very much self promoters who use the word of God to build fame for themselves. Their message is one which is easy for people to follow because it puts them in charge of their own desires, and creates a self governing feeling of false security.
The word here tells us that these people are twice dead. They were useless trees because they were not producing good fruit, and because they were not true believers they would be rooted up and burned. I think it is time we be very aware of these kinds of people, and in many cases they are leaders of some very huge movements today in our churches. We need to be careful to hold them accountable for what they teach, and that they always point to Christ. Many times these people will tend to stay away from the work of the Holy Spirit within us in teaching us the true word of God, and use the idea of God's Spirit as a tool they can manipulate for their own gain. Beware of false prophets...pray in the Spirit and in truth...keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. With every hope that is in you cling to God and not to this world. I love you in Jesus...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
