HAVING A VISION FOR LOVE
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
As the seed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ grows within us it demands there be some kind of expression that awakens within us. The goal of our lives tend to change as that seed is allowed to continue to grow and it brings with it a strong desire to do something for God.
There is a problem with that in that we can do nothing really for God except to submit to His Spirit's guidance and leadership...but in the beginning of our relationship with God it is rare that we understand what that means. In fact there are many Christians who for the rest of their lives strive to do things for God, or in the name of God without ever really knowing why they do them...it become a kind of knee jerk response that they never really take the time to figure out. It has taken a long time for me to understand the real and simple reason behind the Good News of Christ as well basically because I have had to wade through the confusion caused by the modern Church about how that Good News should work and be shared.
It is because of the need to re-think how we need to approach sowing the seed of the gospel that the vision for this particular ministry and work has come about. Even when I first got involved with the ministry I will be telling you about over the next few weeks I had no idea as to what it should look like or what approach to make with people. We should never have had the need for such a ministry as this in the Church and yet because of our creeds and doctrines separating us from one another the Holy Spirit is sending people to fill the need. It is really a process of starting to wake the Bride of Christ up from playing the comfortable church games of divide and comfort that we have now played very well in America for so long. It is a primary reason for the apathy that has been able to develop within the church social structures that has allowed the sin and corruption of the world to creep into our churches and services to the point that we would accept Satan himself standing and preaching from the pulpit in some of the churches we have in this country.
I don't want to dwell on the whys there are that we need such a ministry as this, but rather on the ministry itself so that you can be a judge and a discern er of it's worth spiritually. The first of several things that we will base this work on is coming back to the teachings of Jesus Christ alone. I believe that if we drop all of the posturing and attitudes that surround the reasons why we cannot fellowship with one another in Christ, and stick to His teachings there will never again be a reason for division among us. Notice that I did not say to start a new kind of church or believe in something that is in any way foreign to you...just simply begin adhering to the original Gospel that has been brought to us by the Son of God. The second need we have is to realize that we have never been made to be the church as individual little bodies spread out all over the world. In stead we are all one body with many different parts which should all be working together to sow, water , and cultivate ground so that God's word has a chance to grow in the lives of those we share it with. Can you imagine the difference in a community if the church's that exist right now would some how get the concept of being a family in Christ who operates differently through the power of God's Spirit with the diversities of gifts they have been given instead of fighting over who is right and wrong? If you could close your eyes but for a moment and see the power of God's Spirit as He is being released upon this world through the unity and bonded love that the church could have if we allowed God to truly command us I believe you would start to see why this ministry is so important.
There has never been a ministry which was mainly for every other ministry in a community, and whose goal was simply to help Christians of all denominations to reach people in the community for God. The main drive behind this vision is to be a place where people can come to pray talk and worship without attitudes or preconceived ideas that have separated them from one another. It will be the Gathering Ministries opportunity to open doors for many other ministries to share as well in the Gospel of Christ. The difference is that we will be open everyday, and there will be scheduled events throughout the week that Christians from all over the community can be a part of without ever having to miss their services on a Sunday morning. It will be a place where Christians can come and find teaching and music throughout the week. People will find fellowship and food as well and a place where they can have meetings or counseling professionals available. There will be advertised bible studies on different topics and courses of study and conversation that can be used in starting your own small group home ministries. We are looking at building right now to be located in downtown Two Rivers WI. and I need your help to pray that God will open doors for us as we boldly step forward and claim the needed finance and people whom God will send our way to do this work.
