A PRISONER OF SIN

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Very few people would argue that this world is beset by some very dark hearts who would rather have this world in chaos and war than in peace.  Even the worst of us do not like the idea of being a prisoner to anything...but we all most certainly are.
Galatians 3 : 22 " But the scripture declares the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe".

We don't seem to understand that through nothing that we personally did we have already been condemned through the sin of Adam and Eve.  We don't have a chance to even help ourselves no matter what we do or how good we try to live.  The only exception to that very difficult truth is our faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the remission of those original sins.  Jesus has given us a chance to have a relationship with the Father through His shed blood, but that is only the beginning.

There are many people today preaching and teaching as though that was the end of the journey.  There are many Christians even saying " oh we don't have anything else to do but to accept Jesus as our Savior" but I want to tell you very clearly that if you really have accepted Jesus as your Savior there is much more to it than just sitting and waiting for Him to return for you.  In fact there are many things that should naturally change in your life, and in your relationship with God the Father , and if they don't something may be very wrong.  I believe that just as in Jesus time there are those who are leading people away from the kind of relationship they need to have with God in order to find salvation, and I fear that all of the time that many are spending doing things for God and being good Christians in their own eyes will back fire on them come judgment day...and here's why. Our salvation does not depend on what we say as much as the relationship we develop . If we truly do give our lives to Jesus Christ...if we truly do accept Him as our savior then we will obey what He tells us to do.  What Christ tells us is to seek God with all of our heart, mind and soul, and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.  That means that we are to have a drastic change in our relationships across the board.

We must some how begin to realize that before Jesus came we had no salvation, and we had nothing to have any faith in.  We had belief in God but not salvation.  We even had eternal life...but not salvation.  We were doomed to live forever without Gods presence and love unless He intervened on our behalf. Before Christ came to us as a sacrifice we were under God's law through Moses.  The law was not written under faith, it was actually just the oposite for man who does these things will live or die by them.  Jesus came to free us from the death and the curse of the law by becoming the one who received the punishment in our place for what we as mankind had done.  Jesus freed us so that we could stand clean before God and have the chance to build a relationship with God once more as we were created to do...but it is still up to us to have that relationship with God.

Jesus does not create a relationship with God for us; He only gives us the chance to have one with God.  In a way through Christ we have our chance to have an introduction to the Father, and then we build our own relationship  with Him on our own.  The truth of that is really quite different than many of the churches have been preaching lately, and that is why it is so very important that we understand the truth of God's word to us.  Paul explains it in a bit more detail throughout the 3rd chapter of Galatians.  I will be discussing this in a bit more depth later on.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
