YOUR CALLING , YOUR PURPOSE, YOUR ANSWER

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

I have no doubt that most of us have an idea about what we would like to see the Church do in this world, and yet if we were pressed to put forth a plan of action to follow that would give the world a BIG PICTURE of what it looked like it would not be long before we fell into some trouble in actually making it work.

There are a few different reasons for that happening...among them is the fact that most of us are not born leaders among men, and among those who are it is very easy to become full of self when you realize that people  tend to listen to you, and follow you.  Many people get so caught up in the chance to collect the money, and gather the stuff  they want around them they can be easily corrupted by the world pretty quickly.  That makes most of those who are the best among leaders people who don't want to lead at all.  There is also a third character trait that is probably the most important of all and that is who that person is influenced by the most.  I think in order to have a good check and balance system within the Churches we need to have many different leaderships that come from many different areas and talents.  All of these people need to be guided and lead by a single Spiritual influence which takes it's only directive from God the Father.  Ultimately the ownership and guiding power always has to come back to this one source of truth, and the real trick is to never let that single source of truth become manipulated by anyone else under it.

When I was younger I found myself doing battle all the time in this area of calling , purpose, and ultimately an answer given for my life.  It was confusing to me because I had many things that I really loved to do.  I had music, Art, broadcasting, preaching...all areas that could have pursued, and may have succeeded in, but although I knew I had been called by God to His work I never continued to dig to find out what my created purpose was...therefore I missed what the answer was for my life for a long time.  When I say I missed the answer for my life; I mean I missed the one thing that I should have been concentrating on that would have fulfilled me as a man above all others because I refused to continue to listen and obey God after a time.  Like so many of us I too had the thing in my mind that I wanted to do, and because I would not entertain what God was telling me about me I wasted many many years.

If I had gotten serious about finding out what was hidden on the inside of me that was as yet mostly untapped by me, and most certainly not allowed to be tapped by the Holy Spirit within me  I would no doubt have been much more of a success as a tool of God's Spirit in this life.  There are many of us today sitting in that same spot as I was for so long waiting for God to begin to open doors and point in certain directions for us to go and do...and yet we don't feel that happening.  I discovered that God had been telling me for years that it would be a part of my calling to bring to light much of the truth about the church and about what we all needed to look for in growth to awaken the Bride of Christ.  I have probably spoken now about awakening the Bride of Christ for over 30 years without a full realization that my main job would ultimately be that of giving others information to use as tools in their life so they could be the ones to actually do the awakening.  In many ways that tended to make me feel badly because I wanted to play a greater part in the public mix of this great calling, and yet in order for this to happen at all someone must sacrifice for the glory of God.

One of the big things that I have become aware of is that the first body of believers to begin this work will seem to be unsuccessful because it will be their job to show others what that service to others really looks like within the body of Christ community and world wide.  I know that right now there are no catchy terms that are used for it and yet if we are successful in showing the church community what is needed by all to create unity within the Spirit of God by serving one another ( in essence washing one another's feet) as Jesus did and putting ourselves in a complete place of service to the needs of the body of Christ around us...It is then that we will begin to see the true church of Jesus evolve the way God intended it to.  I know I have used a lot of words in describing  this , but what we should be doing is for the Kingdom of Heaven ( which is not of this world).  We should do nothing so that we will in any way receive the benefits or recognition as a church body or as an individual in Christ.

It is this thought that draws my mind into thoughts of what it is going to take for us to really give birth to real unity of God's Spirit within the church in this community or anywhere else in the world.  How much do we really love each other in Christ and how far are we willing to go to allow God to make the church who we all should be?  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
