THE RESULTS OF SPIRITUAL FAST FOODS #4
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
COMPROMISE is thought of by most of the world today as a good thing because it leads to less conflict as we give and take with one another. Lately the term of negotiation has been floated in world governments more than ever. It may work well if both parties hold to their word with the agreements made, but unless we have been living under a rock for the last 50 years we know that very few people are prone to keep their word. We soon learn the art of compromise in life by promising in something in return for so, and that we are to show no hospitality to false teachers nothing else. The deceit comes into play very soon when we make a promise that we never intend to keep. This a kind of game that we have learn ed to play very well with one another because we can never really know what is in someones heart. This does not work with God because as our creator He knows all too well not to listen to our words, but to look upon the intent of our heart.
Staying on a diet of Spiritual fast food opens a door that very few can survive on for long periods without compromising their faith in Christ in some way because our desire to be liked and accepted among our daily exchange in society will lead us to compromises that will take us away from a true course in following even the basics of what Jesus has laid down as the foundations of our faith. We never have to desire to be deceitful in following Christ to have this happen; all we really need to do is to allow a compromise to take root within our heart by adopting a doctrine or a principal from someone that tickles our ears or makes us feel special in Christ. Physiologically we are all prone to fall into a desire to be socially liked or accepted. All the way through our exchanges and growth as a person we have had certain Peer Pressures that cause us to go along with what the majority of others feel and do; and that is real pressure especially when we are faced with making a choice between a lie and the truth.
There are all kinds of examples of compromise found in God's word. Some have a desire to claim Christ and yet still live like an unbeliever 1 Samuel 8:1-22 We do not take into consideration the fact that no matter how small the degree is that we are off a mark the separation only gets worse over a length of time. God's word has told us that there is an unacceptable compromise Exodus 8:25-28 and although we may be secretly disobeying God like the account found in 2 Kings 17:9 the compromise we are involved in is in a huge way assisting evil to destroy our hearts
2 Chronicles 19:2. It does not matter who we are or what God has set us aside for we can still easily fall into the trap of compromise by listening to varying degrees of truth.
A very good example is found in the accounts of Solomon who had been given every worldly pleasure through the wealth of King David. God had set him to be the greatest and most powerful of all, and had given him the honor of building the temple. Even with all of this wisdom and power King Solomon was destroyed by compromise 1 Kings 11:8. Jesus tells us that no man can serve two masters Matthew 6:24, and that we are to show no hospitality to false teachers 2 John 10:11. There is a tremendous amount of damage that can be done by just one person's influence in a church by using this kind of compromise. Like the account found in Revelation 2:20 of the ways Jezebel influenced the Church in Thya tira. There are so many examples today of how a slight compromise has set in course the destruction of ministries and church all over our Nation It is my prayer that we will take this message from God's Spirit to heart as we continue to turn our lives over to Him. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
