DISTRACTIONS, DIVERSIONS, AND DECEPTIONS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I have always been annoyed by people who refused to think for themselves or who automatically could blame something or someone else for any mistake they made in life. I can tell you that I have spent a long time being annoyed at myself because of that very thing.
What gets me as much as anything is how easy it is for us to become distracted from the things that are important to us because we are so busy trying to multi-task life around us. This kind of speaks to a reference I made earlier about " Whats New?" in that there is nothing really new about this world strategies to divide and conquer, distract or diverge us from those things that God wants for us to think about. It is that simple deception that is at the center of our discussions this week...and I know that for each one of us it is an on-going problem that seems to be getting worse.
We seem to have the biggest problems in this country to addictions, but I don't mean drugs! What I mean is to convenience and comfort. One of our biggest problems is that we are being lulled into sleep, and those who are singing the lullaby are the biggest of our enemies!. It is a proven fact that the best prey are in those who are completely unaware of any danger being present, and that is so true of our society right now.
As people we tend to not want to think for ourselves and so we lazily allow someone else to do our research for us; all the time thinking that we are smart for not having wasted the time to find out the "Real Truth". In most cases however the truth that we come up with is formed by the opinions of others whom we have given the power to shape our thoughts or sway our beliefs. The old saying "There isn't any free lunches" certainly applies here because each decision we make to give away our right of choice or opinion costs us in some way. I am very very sure Satan is thrilled by those who believe that he does not exist because that makes them unaware, and unprepared to avoid becoming his prey.
Today we have a unique opportunity to have someone shinning the light of truth in our face as a warning to wake up and take back our understanding of what truth is in our Government, and just how far the corruption has gone into the deep state and fabric of our leadership. We all know it needs to be cleaned out before any trust can be reestablished, but it is unpleasant because it means that we have to get involved for a change. We all know the words by heart of what it takes to be honest and truthful, and yet how long now have we been deceiving ourselves into thinking that the Good Ole Boys Club we have seen played out in our Government leadership is just human nature and not " Power corrupts; and absolute power corrupts absolutley"? We have seen the difference in our own life situations where we too have been given too much leway in choice and options to stay true to our course, and have used or have perhaps abused that power others have given you. It is an easy thing to do if you are no longer bound by a moral guidline or word that you are willing to honor. That is what human nature is when it is not restrained by the laws and nature of God's word.
I can believe that almost anyone who is sent into a situation where they are elected by the people to represent their will would fall to such temptations in an environment where all guidelines of restriction are thrown off, and in their place was a continious parade of temptations to pad your own nest for the future, and then have no limits on how long you could remain in that position if you said yes to the right people. One of the first things we need to do is get rid of career Politicians in high places. Next is to eleminate any special exemptions that they might have to be treated the same as anyone else financially or with programs of priveledge that are meant only to protect them from having to live under the same rules we have. I believe that is where the corruption starts, and the sin takes hold. There is no doubt that we have been lied to by both sides of our Government, but are we going to stay in our bed and sleep through it? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
