THE PLOT THICKENS/ CHAPTER 2
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Many of us can't really get into reading or watching a story unfold that does not have twists and turns in it that keep us on an emotional roller coaster. We want the "plot to thicken" so to speak, but in real life; and when we are the main character in the story when " THE PLOT THICKENS" it is we who pay the price for others who look on.
It is during this time that it becomes easier for us to lose our way by using the natural wisdom we have to problem solve. While God has known the solutions all along we are too self-centered in our thought process to listen to His wisdom. The more build-up of life around us to complicate things the more confused we get as to why we cannot free ourselves from the problems we face. I don't think we even realize the things that are slowly engulfing us any more than an animal realizes they are wading too far out into a mud pit. There is no sense of danger until we find that we cannot move or make any adjustments or maneuvers to free ourselves. When we are focussed on one thing in that way we are very vulnerable to being lead into traps until the suction from our own weight causes us to become trapped and without hope of escape. It isn't the single focus that becomes the issue here but rather what we are allowing ourselves to focus on.
In truth, we need to be able to have a point of focus that will always lead us away from getting stuck in deceiving situations. As I have referred to it as being a "Point of light" that we can always count on to light the truth of any situation for us. In our minds, we all know that the source of that point of light I refer to is Jesus, but we don't always understand that emotionally or when we are in the middle of WHEN THE PLOT THICKENS in our lives. The only remedy for having problems with that is to set our minds to always go directly to the truth of Jesus in any given situation ( in other words we have to practice). In order to gain any kind of proficiency in anything within this life, we must practice it in our lives. That means we must work at it until it becomes natural for us to do or a talent that we can use. So many have adopted the idea of simply saying something to be the same as making it true, but in this life, it does take a lot of hard work! The concept of "I think I am a Christian, therefore, I am a Christian" is never really true until we are also obedient to Christ and the teachings that He brings. When we get to the point where we must live out what we privately are saying we believe; by that what I mean is by living publically in a way that proclaims to the world around us what our faith in Christ is all about, then we are either not grown up in our spirit enough to understand what it means or we are playing games.
We must realize that the pressure will never change on us to turn away from Christ. This world will try to throw everything it can at us to dissuade us from getting closer to God because the closer we become to Jesus the stronger we are in the Spirit of God to give testimony as to what God has done to save us. We will get to the point when we get used to dealing with the onslaught of darts and arrows that are fired at us, but for the most part, it does not help us to develop the new creature in Christ that God is creating us to be. We will pick up on that in the neext blog. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
