REMODELING YOUR LIFE /CHOOSING THE RIGHT MATERIALS # 4

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

It is at this point where you will usually find me screaming for God's help because I do not know what to do next! When it comes to my own choices of material to use in building my life I now realize that I am the last choice I should use for such a task.  The problem is that is a lesson learned from a hindsight perspective which is usually 20/20.  The answers to finding the very best parts of who we are to build with can only be found through a painstakingly slow process of examining what materials we have inside of us first.  We cannot do that without highly qualified help from someone who knows us better than we know ourselves.

We are at an extreme disadvantage in all of this because by the time we realize we need this to take place we are already very messed up in life.  Our whole future rides upon who it is that we trust and so the real fight begins!  If Satan cannot keep you in the same lifestyle you have grown accustomed to he will certainly try to steer you into a new life that is even worse by having you think that you are safe from judgment and sin through a single statement or act toward God.  Let's be clear here for a moment how would you feel about someone who treated you the way you have treated God?  That, of course, is a rhetorical question, but one that is important for you to answer at least to yourself.  The reason is that most everyone that I know in this life needs to have some kind of attitude adjustment with regard to choosing materials to build their lives with when it comes to building upon the foundations that Christ has set for our lives.

If you recall I had mentioned before in a blog that Paul had to lead the people of the Corinth church back to the foundations of their faith again in Christ and go over the very milk of the word when they had thought themselves to be grown up in Christ.  It is that attitude that becomes very important in our process of choosing what and how we keep our faith and stay close to the basic teaching of Christ.  It becomes harder and not easier as we grow in Christ especially when we begin that journey and that is why it is so important that we find a mentor spiritually that is willing to both take the time and have the commitment to us in Christ to help us find our way.  There need to be checks and balances as we come across various teachings of the church that will no doubt conflict with one another.  You will find this in doctrine more so that in scripture, but opinion is often a tool of a division for the enemy to use to harm any fellowship we may have with others so don't adopt doctrines until they are compared with those of Christ's foundational teachings.

The church is supposed to be the place where we can commit and grow in the teachings of Christ without fear of confusion, but that is less the case today than it has ever been. The only answer is a return to scripture; and not just any scripture, but that which directly reflects the teachings of Jesus and the message of salvation as given to Him in the New Covenant testament of God.  There are so many who have tried to claim that God teaches a doctrine that they have developed as men to create a denominational belief, or what I like to call a " Brand of Christ " that it has become dangerous to trust in the leadership of men.  With that in mind, there can be only one source of real truth remaining; and that is the teaching of Jesus alone.

Dear ones I do not want any of you to be fooled into a faith that relaxes you and fills your heart with a sense of comfort and security that does not also cause you to operate expectantly to receive Jesus at any time. There is so much more to be said about this process, and it will be an on-going conversation within upcoming blogs.  The choices we make in who to trust in the seeking and the development of materials we use to build up our spiritual lives with is top priority to our future.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
