FAST FOOD FAITH # 1
Greetings in the name of Jesus our Lord and Savior:''
When God began to teach me on this subject I was surprised at the realization and prophecy of the word about it. Even more interesting is the acceptance of most of the church leadership to watering down the message that Christ has originally given us about God's expectations of those who are seeking a relationship with Him. This series of discussions will deal with our desperate needs to stay as close to the basic truth of salvation as we can without adding or detracting from the original message from Christ. The KISS method definitely applies here, and the further we get into the development of the end times the more we are finding constant attempts to muddy the waters on that message.
We have been talking for years now about the basic steps to find a relationship with Christ so we can at any time go back through some of what I have already written to find that information. The thing we want to concentrate on right now is the tendency to gloss over those things that make people feel uncomfortable by tickling their ears with feel-good messages which never draw them closer to making a decision about the conviction of personal sin. I don't want to get all of the very good ministries out there angry at me either because there are many good ones who are preaching the truth, but there are also many who are starting to become distracted by the tons of controversy created by this world. The problem is coming from a very subtle push from this simple plan of salvation toward the cares that people have about this everyday life. I can't help but be reminded of what Jesus said about these everyday worries being used to take our minds off of our relationship with God in
Matthew 6:25-34 concerning the worries and anxiety of today.
When we are faced with the information of this world constantly being screamed in our ears by the media opinions it becomes almost impossible to think of anything else. I believe that is why God suggests that we run away from that noise when we want time with God. In order for us to find our minds and our hearts, any kind of space to think and meditate it is absolutely important for us to get alone. That is one of the things we are fighting with the most in today's world; a place and time where we are not invaded by the cares of this life. Sometimes we need to get away from any noise at all including that soft music that we use to help us relax just so we can concentrate on hearing God's voice inside of our hearts. As we start to think about this fast food faith we have adopted in so many of our churches today I think we need to also understand that there is a very simple answer to the problem. It is in the ways we seek after God in the simple intent of our hearts. Over the next few blogs, I want to look at some of the effects of not so healthy fast spiritual food on our growth and development in Christ. Please pray with me on this subject, and if you have any comments I would like very much to include your thoughts in this series. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
