PRAYER AND POLITICS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
When I think the tremendous mood swings and opinion polls that clash within our country today my mind, in all honesty, go into overdrive trying to think of ways to heal our land and those disagreements all around us that have been so harmful to our nation, but the only way we can ever heel is by stopping the fight and by getting on our knees before God in prayer. There is a consistency in all of today's efforts to change the ways that the general populace views life in general, and it begins with distraction from what truth is with a constant bombardment of assaults to our senses in the media that we drown in every day
I don't think that we have been able to wake up yet to the fact that we cannot trust those whom we have given the job of dispensing our daily information to us. It has become absolutely necessary for everyone to double check each piece of information they receive every day to check it against a source that has proven to be trustworthy. While that seems to be a lot of work it is the only way that we can effectively keep from being brainwashed by the world around us through slanted reports that are designed to lead our minds into tunnel vision with someone else in charge of what we see, hear, and believe is true. For a few people who have been freed from the clutches of the control of this worldview, it has become easier than ever before to see clearly that this world is not our friend in any way, but we are at a very small minority.
All of the natural pressures from our life start to be applied from our desire to fit in with those around us by being liked and accepted to the natural peer pressure that comes from hearing the same things from everyone around us because of the latest talking points discussed in the media...we are being set up to be controlled. I say that because I know the enemy of God all too well. I know the lies and the deceit that is put into play when we allow ourselves to be confused about what the truth is. I know that there is, and has always been only one source of truth that has never changed by either time or the influence of mankind, and that is God's truth. It is interesting to me how exactly Jesus was when He compared us to sheep who on one hand had some intelligence in that they would not follow anyone's voice except a voice except for one they were convinced was their shepherd, and at the same time if we trust, we have almost no defense against the danger of walking blindly over a cliff just because everyone else is doing it! While these things don't seem to fit together it is still a perfect representation of the human condition.
The problem is not in the ways we are made, but in who we are listening to be our source of truth., and we are finding out how unreliable this world can be when it comes to getting the whole truth all of the time. No matter how many sources we may go to we must dig to find out where the root of that so-called truth is coming from, and if will remain consistent for us throughout the test of time.. This is now and has always been a major matter of prayer for me, and it is becoming a key concern for the survival of what we have always stood for and believed in as a country. It is my prayer that some of these messages have made some sense to you as you have sought answers. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
