WHAT PIECES ARE WE WILLING TO GIVE TO GOD?
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
There can never be a time when we are ready to voluntarily give away a part of what we consider to be who we naturally are. In today's world, it is harder than it ever has been to gain power, or position because of the ever-increasing competition in the world around us. Our youth today will be forced to compete with the exactness of computers many times smarter than they could ever be for even the most humble of work.
I want to speak with you a moment about the very things that you may well hold the dearest to you. I know it may be easy at first to say we want to give God everything in our lives; we always talk in church about giving Him our troubles and sorrow but rarely do we speak about giving the pieces of our lives to Him that mean the most to us, and many times until we can understand how God's Spirit really does His work in us we will not trust Him enough to see God work any real power through our lives that we feel we can testify to. It is very important for us to be able to trust completely in God's Spirit to guide and to teach us, and for that to happen we must find a way to bring our lives closer to Him. That won't happen until we can see that we can trust God with the most important parts of who we are. In fact, without being able to trust God fully and completely I doubt if many of us will ever be able to love God. That becomes a very sad thing when you consider all of the love and grace He has shown us as a creation
There is one small point that I need to make to some of you, however, and that is just because God cared enough about us as His creation to give His life as a man to enable us to have a way to seek after a relationship with Him it does not automatically give us the right to claim either salvation oe citizenship in the Kingdom of Heaven. I am afraid that right is reserved for family, and for those simply claim friendship. Sooner or later in the history of mankind, we will be forced to realize that. It is unfortunate that many will learn that too late or in many cases the hard way. From the very beginning, Jesus was looking for those who could believe that the Father had sent Him for the purposes that He had stated, and while a few believed the majority of people did not unless they allowed Jesus to touch their lives directly in some way. For those who got close enough to actually feel the power of God working within Him, their lives were often changed directly and dramatically.
We don't realize how broken into many small pieces we really are until we try to put our lives together. It is that process of what we must do next after we make the connection we need to make in our own mind and heart that God is indeed real to us we need to discuss a lot more than we have been in our churches. I would like to take my time and just talk with you about that process for a while because unless we get this right we could go to church every day for the rest of our lives and still miss the things about us that are the most important issues to God. This does not take a great biblical scholar to understand, but it will take some common spiritual sense and wisdom for the Spirit of God. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
