READING THE WRITING ON THE WALLS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Almost all of the things we see today that deal with the prophecies of scripture is starting to be revealed in some form. There are many who are working overtime to try to not be fooled by what they hear being said today, but I can tell you with little doubt that most of this world is being affected in one way or another by the number of warnings that are being given throughout the religious community. The question is who are we listening to with all that is being said? It seems like the number of people who are suddenly scholars of this prophecy is popping up from under rocks everywhere, and very few have any real history to fall back on. It seems to me like we should be returning to the original sources to find out the truth behind all of these claims.
What are the things we need to really look for in understanding prophecy? The original definition of prophecy has not changed over time; it should be a form of truth-telling. With that in mind what are we hearing about that is telling us the truth? The word of God tells us that we will hear a lot of rumors about what should be the truth. Scripture tells us about these rumors of wars and threats of violence, famine, and terror that will be a part of the nature of today's world, but the word tells us to not be afraid for the end is not yet come. I believe what God is trying to do is to get us to seek after the truth, but it is the truth that He has already given to us through Jesus Christ, and not from all of these other sources that the world is throwing in front of us. I believe that all we are seeing is an attempt to distract us from the truth by creating such a loud noise around us that we forget what we are really looking for.
The actual truth of the prophecies we are hearing about revolves around what God the Father decided to do to save us from that original mistake of sin which we were tricked into committing against God as a creation. We can go back the reasons for all of the prophets making these statements about the truth that was revealed to them and see that everything led up to the announcement of the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as our Savior. The prophecies we are hearing about today have nothing to do with that; but rather with the potential of chaos, wars or destruction that others have predicted are heading our way. I also note that from time to time there is just enough sprinkling of God to let us think that we are all on the same page, but we are not. Who among us is the wisest...let me submit to you that those who are still seeking a real relationship with Christ are the wisest? We need to be reading the message that God originally put on the wall about who and what we are to Him. Do not allow yourself to be distracted by what this world tells you that truth is. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
