FAITH IN CHRIST IS THE SUBSTANCE OF OUR FAITH
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen." Over many years of writing this blog, I have found many different ways that those words have proved true to my life. We have seen a tremendous push in the last few years where the ideology of this world is leaning further toward placing faith in something that tends to change to fit whichever way the wind blows that day. To me, that is like trying to say you are holding on to a tree when all that you have in your hand is a leaf.
If we are going to allow our lives to be governed by faith it stands to reason that our faith should be placed on something that has proven stable and secure rather than the latest fad of thinking that someone has come up with to make people feel better about themselves? I personally test my faith in something before accepting it as the truth. In fact, that is what the word of God suggests we do to assure ourselves that we can have a faith that will sustain us in difficult times. In my mind and according to what Jesus taught us our faith is not worth much if we can test it and see it fail.
There are many people who have a hard time with trust issues for that very reason, and it depends on what we are putting our faith in when it comes to our relationship with God as to whether it will stand or not. Jesus said "BELIEVE IN ME, AND IN THE ONE WHO SENT ME" and yet so many are talked into believing in something manmade that has no real stability. When other men let us down in that way do we have a right to believe it is God's fault? I am seeing things thrown at Christians at such a rapid pace today that there isn't any wonder why people are falling to the wayside. I believe it is because we are not ministering in the church the right ways. We must take the time to use our faith through the power of God's Spirit, and have the faith to understand He only needs us to be a conduit and a witness to others of what He has done and is doing in us. We don't have to be special in any way; just honest. People cannot believe that God will do something in their life until they see Him do something in your life.
Dear friends, we need to find out where true NORTH is on this journey we are on otherwise we will have no direction at all soon. We cannot listen to those who are lost or who are seeking after the truth themselves; we must find our faith in Christ alone. The journey that we are on will no doubt get more difficult if we try to follow the signs and listen to the direction of men; we need to place our faith on the foundation that has proven itself over and over again...that foundation has been laid down for us by Jesus, and is the rock upon which we can build our relationship with God. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
