OUR QUIET TIME WITH GOD
There is a tremendous truth today that is apparent in our churches today, and that truth is we have forgotten how to spend alone time with God. I have included a video of some music that you can use for meditation and worship. True worship is much more than singing songs in our church services, it is taking the time to have both talks with God and to listen to Him as He speaks to us. The time that we spend with God's Spirit will make a huge difference in the way we are allowing God to work within us, and so after you take the time to read our comments today take a moment or two to spend with God in prayer as you listen to some of this music. For a great many of us as children of God, there isn't enough time taken in our lives to really seek after Him with our whole hearts. I would very much like to change that for us if possible. You will have to let me know if this works...it is my first attempt to do this as I seek for more ways to help you to find Him in your life/
I have not found any one thing that does more to help me meditate or worship God more than to get alone and without distraction. Today that is a precious thing to find because we have to work to find it at all in the first place, and secondly we must understand its importance in hearing God speak to us.
It all becomes a part of the experience of ask, seek and knock with God that is so important in having a right heart in finding a relationship through the Holy Spirit with our creator.
This kind of meditation and worship never need a church building or a service to enjoy, but rather the effort to get alone, and then the time to detox from the things of this world that have been crowding out any chance to find a straight answer. Usually, that straight answer we are looking for involves a part of us that we have been unwilling to allow God to control. It is this quiet time with God through His Spirit that gave Jesus as a man the strength to continue through His ministry as our perfect sacrifice. Without that time with God, we are alienated or separated from the real power that God has placed within us, and no matter how strong we may be in our faith when we are alone we are vulnerable to attacks from evil.
I believe it is time to ask yourself "How are you doing with getting alone with God, and really worshipping Him?" What are the things that you seek God out for today? Have you fallen into the grocery list method of prayer that does not even take the time to make sure you have come into contact with Him? Are you just giving up the same things to Him to deal with without having the faith that He has already heard and answered; or is He still waiting for you to know what you really need from Him? Each one of these things speak to the intent of our heart as to what we really want from God in our life. Perhaps we all need to revisit that true intent behind our worship and quiet time with God. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
