BEING PERSUADED THAT GOD IS ABLE TO KEEP HIS WORD
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
One of the biggest problems I have had personally with my walk in Christ is in being completely confident that God is true to His word to me. It is hard for me to understand how He can just forgive me when I have been so deceitful to Him in life; for no matter how many times I have intended to keep my word to Him I seem to have failed. In my mind, I often think " Why should God ever believe anything that I say to Him?" and then I realize that God never listens to the words I use, but rather He reads the intent of my heart when we speak. In truth then I cannot lie to God; I can only lie to myself and others around me, those who can be fooled by a lying tongue.
I have often wondered how different our lives would be if we could read the hearts intent of those around us the ways God does? What would we be like if we could not lie to ourselves or to one another? In a huge way, we are all indoctrinated into living with the sin around us and we may quickly pick up on someone being untruthful with us so much that it is almost impossible for us to believe anything at all. There have been times in my life when I couldn't believe anything that I was trying to tell myself about what I was feeling or wanting in life. The one thing I found out is that I could not wait for the truth to come to me; I had to go out and seek after the truth for myself. Many people want to know whats coming next, and yet they are not willing to seek the answers that are true because they fear what they may find out.

ASK, SEEK, AND KNOCK is among God's primary tools to find out the truth when it comes to our honesty with Him because He will not hesitate to test our word given to Him, and He asks that we, in turn, test His word given to us. When I read about Paul's life I can see a man who was constantly testing God's word to Him so that he might have the confidence to say " I am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed to Him against that day". Each one of us must test that word from God for our lives so that we can say that as well. Those words tell me something much more than it is a simple process of believing that God will keep His word to us, but it also deals with our ability to commit to Him as we find out that He is really the only source of truth we can always rely on.
I think for each one of us that ASK, SEEK, AND KNOCK process is different, and the things that we need to be drilled into our hearts can only be found in our active participation to find out what that truth is. Included in that revelation are things like who God has created us to be, how we can find real peace and happiness with who we are; and most of all settling the question of where we are going and how best to get there. You see everything hinges on our ability to trust what God is saying to us true. He is asking for you to take the time to find out for yourself instead of taking someone else's word for it. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
