THE POSITION OF THE BELIEVER

Greetings in Jesus:

Have you ever really considered what your position as a believer in Christ really is?  In the book of Ephesians 1:3-28 Paul begins to explain to the church some very important facts.  The very ideas that we seek to understand are based upon The Heavenly places, predestination and the concept of redemption that God has given us through the Good News that is brought to us through Jesus Christ.

It was Jesus Himself who continually said that we did not understand te things that He was saying to us even though what He was saying is so simple that a even a small child could understand it.  It doesn't really say much for our own self wisdom in the matter of spiritual things.  What He was really saying to us is that we can not understand without first looking at what He was saying through the same pure faith like a small child would have.  The idea of our being predestined didn't have anything to do with us, but rather with God's own personal intent to love us the ways He has, and frankly it was because of that predestination God had made to love us no matter if we were deserving or not is what has brought about His offer to us of salvation ( or redemption) if we will accept it on His terms.

It was because of God's intention to love us no matter what or who were are that would make Him seek so long for a perfect sacrifice for our sin.  You see it had to be someone who could be good enough to pay the ransom for our sin, and even in our most perfect behavior there was not even one who met those qualifications except for Christ 1 Corinthians 6:20  Revelation  5:9.  What had to happen was the removal of the curse of sin upon us which was death between mankind and God  Galatians 3:13; 4:5. You see this freedom would put us from bondage to sin and back into a status of grace with God so that we could once again walk and talk with God as our Father.  From the very start the most perfect kind of sacrifice was a blood sacrifice because it was the most important thing attached to our life.  It was this blood sacrifice that was needed  to pay the price, and God had toyed with different men who had great faith; like his request of Abraham to be willing to sacrifice his only son to God.  Even that sacrifice would have not been good enough, but God knew at that time He would never find a perfect man; instead He was the only one who could provide  that perfect sacrifice by laying a part of Himself  down to sacrifice for our sins.  When we begin to think in terms of our position with God we must realize the commitment that God has to His love for us, and the lengths that He will go to  be true to His word to us. Colossians 1:16.

The important thing in all of this is our inheritance from God as His children; and to realize how important it is to God to see that we have that inheritance as long as we  stand with Him in our commitment to be His own family, and to love as He has already loved us.  I believe this life is centered around finding out who among us is real in our love for God and who among us is only in it for self.

I firmly believe that even though many of us can be very convincing with a beautiful smile and a very innocent look; and by that appearance we may be able to fool everyone else around us, be we can never fool God because He has had to deal with the best Lie's ever created.  He certainly won't be fooled by our attempts because He can read you right through to your backbone. Our only hope and recourse is to be as truthful with God as we can about what is going on inside of our hearts.  No one is perfect and we can all attest to that!  I just pray that we can be open as we accept what our real position is with God as a believer in Christ Jesus.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
