DIGGING DEEPER TO FIND OURSELVES
Greetings in Jesus:
The largest part of what I do in a day is in finding out what changes God has made in me from the day before. I feel as though I am an Arcilogist who is set on a daily mission to uncover new buried treasure within my own life. It becomes a very difficult task at times because I must move things out of the way in order to discover new treasures that are hidden within me. Many times God does not want us to give away to Him something that does not need to be changed, but many times we have things that are in the way of discovering a new part of us that up until that point we may have been unaware of.
I have always believed that when God created each one of us He put things in us that are buried deep within us. Most of the time these things are unable to be reached on our own. We may not have the strength or the desire to " "Be all that we can be" on our own. Many times God has to push us pretty hard before we will make a move to find out more about who He has really created us to be. In my case, I have been pretty stubborn in allowing God to do with me what He has designed me for. I have had to have a great amount of preparation put into what I had planned in my life before God woke me up. I can tell you without any doubt it was not what my intentions were in serving God. I had a picture in my mind that would not be too different from many others in the Christian community today. It involved having a kind of career in the Gospel which is not at all what God had ever intended for me. What God has actually always wanted from me is the same as He looks for in each of us; which is a life and character transformation that will allow us to be truthful and honest witnesses to what He has brought to our lives.
As we begin to dig deep into our own makeup we will continually surprise ourselves with what we find there, and yet God is never surprised because He put it there with us from the beginning. We will find that God has already placed in us most of what we need to cope with what we have to deal with in life, but for the most part, we don't want to work hard enough to find the answers. That is why we turn to sources other than God to find answers; I don't think we like the fact that He is right all of the time.
Quite frankly friends the biggest job that we have in serving Christ is to reflect the light that He has given us to reflect, and I am thinking that for most of us it is a job that we are unprepared to handle. As Christ causes us to have to dig more deeply in our lives it will always be for a reason. In the end it will always be to complete a work within you that He started a long time ago. God is trying to prepare you for the glory of His Heavenly riches in Christ. May you riichly bless God through your life in Him.
