THE WORLDLY MINDED MAN AND WISDOM

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

This has been a week of revisiting some of what we have studied within the book of Roman 7, 8 that deals with the personal struggle to bind us to this existence.  In our efforts to live for the cause of Christ we are very often thrown down and trampled upon by the world around us for reasons that we cannot understand.  In  Romans 7:15-25 Paul makes it clear that he has personal struggles as he points out his struggles to become sanctified through trying to keep the law of Moses rather than completely giving over to the laws of the New Covenant that Christ laid down for us

Since sin dwells within us as a natural part of the lives we live physically in this world there isn't any possible way that we can deal with the power of death that sin has over us.  We absolutely need God's forgiveness, and then we need an on-going relationship with the Father through the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  We have no recourse but to accept forgiveness on God's terms instead of trying to constantly negotiate forgiveness on our own terms.

I believe that we all know the basic truth of God's plan of Salvation, but I also think that most of us somehow think we know more about what our needs of forgiveness are more than God does, and we would be wrong again.
There isn't any way we could hope to understand the kind of forgiveness that God has put into play for our salvation or what He went through to secure our freedom from the death that sin had held us in.  The death of sin is our separation from a loving and caring God for all eternity, but that death is not just pain for a moments time and then sleep for all eternity.  The kind of death is an eternal death that goes on throughout eternity. It means that we will continue to suffer death for eternity, and all of the pain that goes with it because we can never really die from our senses; we can never really die from our feelings or from our regrets or from our mistakes or what could have been if only...we had accepted God's forgiveness.

My friends when we pit our worldly minded kind of wisdom against that of God we will always lose the hand that we play.  We have studied how the double-minded man; or the worldly-minded man fairs against the wisdom of God.  I pray that we can begin to see and accept this love from God head-one and truthfully.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
