ALLOWING GOD TO BEAR WITNESS WITH US
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
For us to say that we bear witness to God's favor in our lives it must first be a fact that we have opened up our lives to receive such favor. By that statement, I don't simply mean that we have accepted the free gift of God's salvation through Jesus Christ, but we must actually begin to open up our lives to change and make Jesus Christ the complete Lord. We have spoken to you of the nature of the double-minded man who can not let go of the things of this world, and just what that means. Not only can these people not make up their minds about their relationship with Christ; but it of Jesus that are found there is impossible for them to even understand His words to them
We still tend to not realize that scripture is not written for those outside of Christ, but instead for those who profess Christ as Lord so that they might grow and be fed in their faith in Christ. It is our job to reflect the teachings of Jesus that are found there. The reasons for God giving us His word is two-fold. 1. God gives us a basic plan of salvation through Jesus Christ as His perfect sacrifice for our sin, and 2. God gives us instruction for how to seek after Him through our faith in Christ and personal application of His word to us. God's word has never been meant for this world, but rather for the Church to use to help men and women grow closer to God and to understand His New Covenant made with His people.
For the most part we have begun to screw that message up into whom this word has been written thinking that it is meant for those outside of Christ rather than for the church, but when we look into the matter closely we can see that all of the warning and verses that deal with avoiding our sinful nature is directed to us as His children.

This world does not understand the words of love from God because they cannot. The words of God's Spirit become foolishness to those who live by the standards of this world. This world lives and operates by the natural law of man which has nothing to do with God's Spiritual laws. It is up to us as God's witnesses to this world to explain and demonstrate what that difference is. The idea of teach baptize and teach is no joke when it comes to our job in Christ, so I pray that we will begin to take it a bit more seriously this year. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
