WHY CAN'T WE ACCEPT THE BASIC FOUNDATIONS OF CHRIST?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Among the first things I learned as a Christian after I started to really get serious about my faith is that no one has all of the answers on a personal level to living a life that completely pleases God.  For a long time, I looked upon those whom God had chosen to write His word in scripture as being a group of people who had attained a certain level of faith and walk with Christ that was so deep and rich that it was beyond a normal relationship being able to be attained by us today, however, the more I  have studied through the years the more I have found that these people, in general, are more like us today than we have realized.

I look at the real life of those who had been called to be Jesus's disciples, and I see men who had failed in the eyes of the world around them to be successful as far as the people who surrounded them in life.  I am certain that Peter's wife and mother in law were not happy to have the man who they depended upon to sustain their family following Jesus around without any visible means of support.  In fact, most of these men simply walked away from their lifestyles to become little more than bums in the eyes of the world around them.  Paul who was responsible for the greatest amount of the New Testament writings, and who was seen as being very influential and successful within the Sanhedrin and established Jewish tradition became hated and scorned by the world around him.

All of these men had their personal opinions and views as well that tended to get in the way from time to time.  Even today some of the personal traditions and Jewish beliefs that Paul held concerning the role of women in the church have great disagreements with others and are not necessarily held by Christ according to His relationships with women.  What makes these people special in any way is that they held true to the message that Jesus taught them to preach to this world.  I have long said that if we as children of God would come back to the message that Christ preached to us instead of getting caught up in the opinions of men, and in the personalities of various messengers we would have no reason to have  church denominations and differences today  The message that the Father had for Jesus to deliver to us came without any prejudice has come through without any interpretation needed, and yet we still want to put our own spin on it.  To me, that is a very sad state of affairs when we must somehow put our own mark of approval upon God's direct statements to us.   There are many hazards for us in this world.  Most of them center around what we talk ourselves into believing are from God when they are actually from us.  This week I want to talk about the Lion that is roaming two and fro; seeking whom he may devour from among we who claim Christ. It may surprise you at what God is revealing to us.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
